The food at Frank's is very very good. My favorite food is the chicken fried steak. It is very very good. The service at the bar is great. The bartenders are attentive and friendly. This is one of my favorite places to dine and/or have drinks in Houston.

Met my daughter and new bf there for dinner. Had an appetizer and wine in the bar beforehand. Bartender was great, wish I could remember his name, had a beard, youngish guy. I had the Shrimp and Grits dinner, and it did not disappoint. Everyone was happy with their meals, daughters short ribs looked amazing.

Just came from a great family dinner at this place with fantastic American cuisine. Tuna tartare and beef tenderloin appetizers were great! Highly recommend shrimp and grits and short ribs too! Great service. We will be back.

The food is very good southernly fried to perfection and accompanied with a tasty variety of salads soups and vegetables. The waiters and waitresses are polite and go out of their way to provide a quality service! The food comes out in a timely manner even if neatness is not their strongest suit.

First time for lunch - many times for dinner. Thought I'd have a 'working lunch' with colleagues and it was PERFECT. In addition to the amazing menu, the setting was just quiet enough so we could have business discussions. As always, the service is some of the best in the city. Truly "...a classic neighborhood restaurant." Not a seafood restaurant;... More

At the suggestion of our daughter, we tried Frank's for our anniversary dinner. So glad that we did! The food was great and the service was excellent! A large variety of dishes at reasonable prices. As our daughter described this place, this is a foodie type of place where the locals eat. Great description! Might not wait for a special... More

As gumbo judges, we wanted to visit Franks to see how they measured up. Quite well, as a matter of fact. The roux was a nice brown with a savory flavor. There was ample seafood, including oysters, and just enough okra to identify it as truly southern style. Very nice. The fried okra was fantastic as well. We found the... More

Four of us headed to Frank's for a delightful Sunday night dinner. The restaurant was packed. Decided to start with the tomato basil soup which was excellent. Moved on to the Sunday special, which was meat loaf. Superb flavor, light and a nice-sized serving with mashed potatoes. Service was excellent and everyone's meal was quite pleasing. They are worth at... More

I'm not usually one to repeat a restaurant while traveling, but Frank's was absolutely worth missing some other dining option in Houston. The first night we had to scratch our chicken fried steak itch, and this was just the place to do it. It is served with mashed potatoes and garlic green beans and is absolutely perfect (I grew up... Description
Frank's is a classic neighborhood restaurant, with big city appeal. With a recognized reputation for memorabe food and great service, the "Americana Revival menu features locally sourced fruits and vegetables, along with fresh Gulf seafood, Try the chicken fried steak! It has been highlighted by multiple food critics as "the best" in the State of Texas. The highly acclaimed Fried Chicken and Maple Brined Pork Chop are just as good. The steaks are all Certified Angus and come with generous sides on the same plate, and the salads are almost legendary. Frank's is a place where you can meet your friends in the bar, dine there, or experience the full menu in the dining room. Reservations are recommended but not required.
