We had a fabulous, first-time dinner at Frank's on a Friday night. The food and service were excellent, with gluten-free options for one in our party. The sommelier was refreshingly casual and informative, selecting two bottles to choose from, based on what we told him...More

My wife and I are old Houstonians and world wide travelers (oil and gas business). Frank's, is mostly, not all, old Texas favorites in an upscale setting. If this is your cup o' tea by all means enjoy. We did with one exception. Their wine...More

My husband and I came for lunch during Houston Restaurant week. I had the cold carrot soup (I should have gotten the salad like my husband), the shrimp and grits -hard to go wrong there, and got the cheesecake and coffee. It was very good....More

I went with a group for HRW - fixed menu for a set price. Creole gumbo was very good & beet salad was also a hit. For the main course - everyone was pleased with their food. I had the sausage with biscuits & gravy....More

The buttermilk fried chicken was tried by both my wife and me, it was above average, but not outstanding. The mash potatoes were very average and served without gravy. The service was average and the ambiance was quite nice. The gumbo soup was very good.

The food here is sublime. I had the shrimp with cheesy grits and an egg - yes, an egg, good stuff! but it was optional - and I don't know what the sauce is but it is mind-blowing. My husband had chicken fried steak, asked...More

This restaurant was selected by our client for a business meeting after a long day. Apparently the restaurant is very popular with our client as they go there often. Great beer and wine menu. We tried a variety of craft beers and wines. The menu...More

Very good service. Nice selections. Food we'll-prepared. I had the pork chop and it was cooked exactly as I requested. The feeling you get in the restaurant, which is a bit dark and heavy on the oak wood, is "a Houston institution".

Frank's is a classic neighborhood restaurant, with big city appeal. With a recognized reputation for memorabe food and great service, the "Americana Revival menu features locally sourced fruits and vegetables, along with fresh Gulf seafood, Try the chicken fried steak! It has been highlighted by multiple food critics as "the best" in the State of Texas. The highly acclaimed Fried Chicken and Maple Brined Pork Chop are just as good. The steaks are all Certified Angus and come with generous sides on the same plate, and the salads are almost legendary. Frank's is a place where you can meet your friends in the bar, dine there, or experience the full menu in the dining room. Reservations are recommended but not required.
