As I stood in parking lot after lunch at Irma's, my instincts were telling me I had just been bamboozled. It looked for all the world as though it was quaint and homemade dining experience, so why did feel as though I'd just been had? As others mentioned in reviews before this one, the guy greeting was cavalier in directing... More

My husband and I met some old college friends at Irma's for dinner last month when visiting Houston. Don't let the location (out of the way) or lack of a menu (seriously, we never were given a menu) keep you away. This was the best Mexican I've had in years. Cooked by family. Served by family. Treated like family (we... More

The drinks are a bit pricey but the food is always good and the service, well Irma will want to know if it is less than excellent. Interior is a bit quirky and you certainly won't find anything fancy but houstonians have been making there way to this local favorite for a long time.

My family and some friends ate at Irma's Original for the second time a few nights ago. Located downtown, it is wonderful that Irma's provides a gated parking lot. We were seated in the front dining room which had a family atmosphere; we all enjoyed the colorful, funky uniqueness of the restaurant. As there is no menu, the waiter listed... More

You won't get a menu, just go with the experience!! The food is incredible! Try the shrimp appetizer, tamales, mahi-mahi, enchiladas, and any dessert! You really can't go wrong. This a great place for family (family run) or romantic dinner. Try it!!

If you like memorabilia, funky and unique places to eat Irma's is the place in Houston. Request to sit in the back room, you will be surprised. There are no menus but the friendly, family servers can tell you what they are offering for the day. Soup and chips come with the meal. Expect about $16.00 for lunch but it's... More

We honestly meant to go to Irma's Southwest, but the GPS had different plans. We we arrived it didn't seem like much, but once we went inside we felt right at home. The decor is very different than many places. Take your grandma dinning room and add new flat panel TV's with non stop sports and you have a dream... More

Went here with my wife and two kids. We sat ourselves then asked the 'water guy' for a menu. He replied "we don't have menus". The waiter (turned out to be the owner's son) again told us they don't have menus. Each time we asked for something his reply was "hey this authentic Mexican food, we don't have that". Really?... Great dinner with my husband. Ray and Logan were so attentive- so fun. Made us feel like home, even a nice couple at the bar who ate there frequently were so welcoming. Guacamole was off the chain.
