not sure what happened to this place. i used to live nearby and go at least once a week. they had super fresh sushi, great soups and i love the bento box w/fish of the day. but my last couple of visit have been very disappointing; i don't think i'll be going back...maybe they are closing soon?

Sasaki has a favorite of my family for at least 20 years. The chef is one of the only few Japanese chefs left in the city. Consistently delivering fresh Sashimi/Sushi over the years. My staple is always Uni, Chawan Mushi and escolar. Love rhis place.

Sasaki is a Great place for fresh and reasonably price sushi. It's simple and easy. They have the best unagi I've ever had. The crisp on it is delicious. The scallop is sweet and tasty at a great price. The taste is comparable to the scallops at Uchi and MF. :)

The closest Japanese food to Japan can be found at this restaurant. It is Japanese owned and you'll also find Japanese clients here which says a lot. I have visited this several times and find the food to be very original and truly Japanese. The sushi is served with a generous strip of raw stuff and minimal rice. The sashimi... More

This is one of the very few Japanese eateries in town that are actually run by Japanese. Others are usually run by the Taiwanese. Taiwan used to be Japanese territory before the Second World War. My wife and I had been there several times for lunch and dinner and we noticed many customers were Japanese. It is located in a... More

I traveled in many countries and I'm a real big fan of sushis and sashimis. Sasaki in Houston is undoubtedly the best place I've ever been ! The Japanese Chef is a real Sensei, he's an artist and he offers the widest selection of raw fishes. If you like authentic Japanese cuisine, Sasaki is the real one !

There's something about Sasaki that reminds me of being in a New York City izakaya - cozy seating, straightforward but authentic Japanese decor and an excellent and rather large menu. I'm happy getting various pieces of sushi, personally. This past visit, we were unfortunately rushed but would love to go back and try omakase. Don't let the location fool you... More

If you want a 10 page menu of sushi rolls with funny American names, then leave the fish at Sasaki for those of us who prefer authentic, high quality Japanese fare. Most of its patrons in the afternoon are Japanese businessmen slurping noodles. Sasaki is about as traditional as it gets for Japanese food in the USA. Service is surprising... More
