We enjoyed the buffet lunch; it offered a wide variety of foods with a “just right” salad bar. Mama Jacks buffet is a good value for the money.

While visiting Beaumont for the weekend I decided to check out the National Preserve known as The Big Thicket. I was told to have lunch at Mama Jack's the best homemade food in the area. When I walked in the place it was packed. However...people were moving in and out of the booths so there is always a place to sit. The staff is extremely helpful and we'll find you a place if you can't The food is served buffet-style and I have to say it was one of the best I've ever had. I had salad, Fried Chicken, fried squash, and delicious mustard greens. For dessert I had the blackberry pie which was fantastic. There are at least four other choices of deserts you can have including a delicious looking cinnamon roll. This was a big surprise to me as I was not expecting such a great meal. Try it you won't be sorryMore

We live in this little town. Mama Jacks is a quaint little place. Good place for an early breakfast. Neat little breakfast bar or order off the menu. Food is good and the service is too.

Well except for my mamaw's. Great price. Not greasy. Fresh. EXTREMELY friendly and helpful! Good ol' people and food. Buffett style, if you want. Self serve.

Great stop on a motorcycle ride. Place is always packed with locals. Waitstaff is very attentive and friendly. Had a couple burgers with onion rings. Food was good and inexpensive.

I went several years ago and it was truly a greasy spoon, chairs, tables, everything. The food was deplorable. I was tired of everything and had seen a couple of reviews after it had been revamped so we tried it out yesterday. Boy, was I...delightfully surprised. The food was wonderful. Everything was so clean and it had such a fun vibe. The buffet was fried chicken, roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, cabbage, black eyed peas, rice, fried squash, candied yams, dressing and rolls and corn muffins. The veggies were fantastic as was the roast beef. I didn't get a chance to try the chicken but my husband and mother both loved it. The deserts were nice home made cinnamon rolls, bready peach cobbler, blackberry pie, cookies and chocolate cake. My husband scraped the plate with the cobbler and pie.More

But servers didn’t listen well when taking our order. My husband specifically mentioned several times he does not want cheese on his burger and they put it on anyways. Pizza for our kids we ordered right away with our drinks, but then arrived after I...was done eating. You should ask what specific ingredients are coming with the dish, cause not everything is listed on the menu. The place seems popular, with most people ordering the buffet. We would go back (as we know we just have to be more clear on our order).More

I eat there for Lunch at least once a week. For the money there's no better place I've found that has that many options.

Depends on the harvest....crabs are not available year-round. Always wise to call before going.
