Back Porch has really good BBQ, and they don't have just the usual boring BBQ items. The sandwich my husband got was pulled pork, a hamburger patty and bacon - different and delicious! They make a great chili and serve it on Frito Pie that's also awesome, as well as really good BBQ baked potatoes. They do sell out sometimes... More

Exterior is nothing to get excited about. An old house and a gravel parking lot. I like country music but the volume was way too loud. I guess the interior could be described a shabby cheap. Chopped brisket sandwich was good. The twice baked potato looked like mashed potato until tasted. Pricing was just a little on the high side.... More

I had the brisket. It was a little on the fatty side so I'd probably do the sandwich version next time. The flavor was good but I like mine plain and it needed a little more spice. But it was probably just right if you wanted to choose a sauce for it. Good choice for eating lunch or dinner!

The brisket platter was very good but only 4 stars because of the massive amount of fat that they left on it. Also for $2.80 more order the 3 meat platter. The people in our group who ordered that, had way less fat on their brisket and also got 2 more meats.

The Back Porch BBQ restaurant is one place in La Grange, TX that I look forward to when in the area. The beef brisket is very good flavor with a tenderness that just requires very little chew effort, ribs (pork) are cooked to my desired level with tender meat that almost falls off the bone, yumm! They have a few... More

A stop for the family when driving back and forth from Austin to Houston. Wasn't feeling like a huge meal so ordered a salad with some brisket on it, delicious. Another in the group went with the BBQ nachos, the cheese sauce is incredible! Pulled pork tacos also a family fave.

Good brisket and ribs. Outdoor seating is available. A little higher cost than most, but good food. Set up in an old house that has been restored.

Visited here with my wife while exploring La Grange. The building itself appears to be a converted house. Upon entering we were greeted and seated immediately. We started with an order of Frickles (fried pickles, $6.50). They were good, but the heavy coating took away from the flavor of the pickle. My wife ordered the 2 Que Combo ($12.95) with... More

Stopped in with my daughter for a quick bite. We both ordered burgers and they were both delicious! Handmade patties, fresh bread and seasoned perfectly. We also ordered the freckles and it was a large portion. And tasted good as well

If anyone is near the intersection of Hwy 71 and 77 in La Grange, Texas you should plan to stop and eat at the Back Porch BBQ. My wife and I have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. The service is always nice and simple and the food is great and at a very fair price for... More
