Like another reviewer, I met an old friend here for lunch, and obviously it had been a long time since we had lunched here. I arrived early, and looked around where the cafe used to be, and realized it had been moved to a space next door. I browsed the store while waiting, and had a clerk ask me, somewhat... More

The food is always top class. I come here regularly with friends for lunch and dinner. The bread test like it was served in a French restaurant in the middle of Paris.

This is a place for women to have lunch, not so much for guys. The food is average and the prices are high.

A nice place to have lunch. Prices are a little above other eateries in Longview, but good waiters and nice elegant place to meet a friend and chat.

Generous with the risotto and pre-meal bread (high simple carbohydrates), the fish portion I would term "meager" at best, especially for the price. The asparagus was stringy, and collected between teeth. Note to chef: this is easily avoided by snapping the asparagus before cooking - it will ALWAYS snap above the fibrous portion of the stem. Indifferent waitress left my... More

My husband and I meet friends to enjoy dinner here regularly. We love the atmosphere and have several menu favorites such as the salmon and the veal. But be sure to ask about the specials before ordering!

The restaurant has a good atmosphere, and good food. The service was lacking considering the price, and most bottles of wine only sold by the bottle. But no one really knows much about it. If you want to play the 5 star game then you need to up the server knowledge and abilities.

Thanks for the 5 star review, but it sounds like we weren't able to offer you a 5 star experience. We do offer several wine-by-the-glass options & also have a free corking & bagging service for unfinished bottles. Hopefully your next visit will be as wonderful as the atmosphere! More

I had eaten at Barron's several years ago with this same group of 4 friends and we remembered it was really good. We decided to go there for our mini-reunion lunch. We made a reservation, but had to wait almost an hour because they were short staffed and they were running very behind. Once we were seated our waitress was... More

My sisters, mom, and I met in Longview for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. We chose Longview because it's midway between Dallas and Shreveport and we have fun anywhere! We ate here to celebrate. I had a the Swordfish which melted in my mouth! The asparagus were very good, but the risotto was NOT! It had a smell. I... More

Looks like we need to check our risotto! Were you able to communicate with Matt that it wasn't quite what you wanted? We are always happy to accommodate, especially when we're able to offer a replacement. I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of your experience & appreciate that you chose Café Barron's for your "midway" point! Thank you for reviewing... More

We went for lunch. It was real nice. The tomato basil soup was really good!! My husband and I shared a sandwich which was great. We also shared a slice of Black Forest Cake which was so yummy!! Our waitress was very good. Very friendly and attentive. We will be going back!!
