Cafe j is the best restaurant in Lubbock, and is right across from Texas tech. Very good food and wine.

My mom and I ate here for dinner. The restaurant had great ambiance. We had a cheese tray which was awesome. There was a raspberry chipotle preserve that was amazing. They even sold me a jar of it so I could take it home. Top notch service! Nice wine list also! The duck breast was awesome & the teriyaki salmon... More

We were there on a Wednesday evening and ate out on the patio. The service was excellent and they have a nice wine list. The food was also very good. Prices are above average. We would go back.

Being new to Lubbock, I have been invited to dine in at Cafe J three times. Three times as well that I noticed that the service is slow; however, the company has been great which made me ignore the service. The food is prepared rather simple and fresh, which I appreciated. But the management has to adjust and remedy the... More

Really enjoyed our visit. Very good food, interesting menu choices. Didn't rate a "5" because of the very limited hours of operation; this was the third time we tried to visit while we were in the area. Enjoyed the artwork.

Let me start by saying my martinis were amazing!!! And my waiter was very friendly and on top of his game. But the food fell short! I think they have made some changes cause I ate here about 6 months ago and the food was so much better. No one at our table very overly impressed. But it was a... More

This was described as one of the best upscale restaurants in Lubbock. Atmosphere very nice, wait staff very impressed with themselves, service was slow, and entrees had quality ingredients and were too ambitious (no flavor stood out on the pasta dish). As a foodie and traveler, suggest "less is more".

Went for our anniversary dinner on a Wednesday evening. We had great service and great food. My husband had the scallops and he couldn't quit raving about them. I had them salmon...it was very good.

We had a lunch reservation and upon arrival the host seemed unsure of where to put us even though the dining room we ended up in only had about 4 tables occupied. My mom and I both ordered the blacked fish tacos. Con - they weren't blackened, but merely fried with maybe a dusting of some flavoring. The piece of... More

We were given a gift certificate to visit this restaurant. The food was well prepared and tasty, though not inexpensive. Our favorite was the spicy ahí tuna appetizer.
