All we wanted was a ticket to the island of maddalena, but after hearing the crunch of the pane carasau from the waiting line, there was no holding us back. From the tartare to the tarte fondante, each course was a delight and we would not hesitate to recommend. Just come with time on your hands.

Yum! Hubby and I had a lovely meal here. It is a small, family run (I think!) restaurant with excellent service and a wonderful seafood menu. We enjoyed starters of squid & avocado and a prawn risotto - both excellent - and both had beautifully cooked sea bass fillets for main. Save a bit of room for the fabulous homemade... More

- as main courses we selected fish plates (frittura c'era una volta, tonno agli agrumi). The quality was good - for dessert, we ordered tortino al cioccolato, but we got delivered something that had nothing to do with it. We sent one of the two back, but both plates appeared anyway on the bill, and the price was higher than... More

This part of Sardinia is expensive due to the Porto Cervo effect, but the Trip Advisor & Lonely Planet reviews of this restaurant are bona fide in our opinion. Very tasty and authentic "Sarde" food, well presented and truly excellent service. Thoroughly recommended

I will start with a positive: the 25 euro mixed fish platter was sensation. Gigantic prawns, beautifully fresh squid and octopus, sea bream and langoustines. And the portion was probably enough for 3 people. This was superb eating. But the black spaghetti with sea urchins (22 euro) was a huge letdown. A tiny portion of overdone spaghetti and some gloopy... More

After a week in high-priced and pretentious restaurants, C'era una Volta presented us with the best dish of the week. Perfect grilled squid on avocado. Just a bit of the best olive oil, an idea of thyme and lemon. The prime were equally flawless. Home made pasta with seafood ragou and ravioli on horseradish potato soup. The restaurant is simple... Terrific service with imaginative but authentic dishes. The seafood hors d'oeuvres are almost too much, but just have to be ordered! Real al dente home made pasta with seafood ragu a hit. Reserve weekends.

We found this amazing little restaurant whilst driving round the Northern area of Sardinia. We were made to feel immediatley at ease and both the service and quality of the food was amazing. If you are ever in the area make sure this is top of your list to visit. The choice is dependant on the fresh catch and the... More

Been a while since I reviewed a place online but feel that I need to provide feedback here. First thing they know how to cook and serve fish, that is a given. I am not however used to being treated so rudely by the person running the restaurant. The old guy creates a unrelaxing and frankly tense and stuffy atmosphere.... More
