The two things I liked about this restaurant are that the temperature was comfortable and the music low. The food was not very good. My husband had the beef stroganoff which was mostly noodles and sauce. Salad was not freshly prepared. I stayed with comfort food/ chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Chicken was hot, vegetables were cold. Not... More

Although they only state reservation required for parties of 5 or more, it's a good idea to get one even for a party of two. We showed up around 1:45 as a walk up and was able to be seated within about 10 minutes. The place was hopping. Their Brunch buffet had Eggs, Bacon, Biscuits, Pancakes, Sausage patties, sausage links,... More

This is comfort food place. Good specials and good value. This is a place for regulars, which we are. It's frequented by families and seniors!

Chicken Pot Pie was the BEST!!!! Big chucks of chicken and al-dente veggies. Also ordered the tortilla soup, totally off the chain! Bold flavor and filling. Only complaint, bowl was not bigger. Service was fun and incredibly proactive to our needs.

Good food and good service for the plate lunch type. The typical meat and three is a meat and two here. The biggest flaw with this place is calling it southern home cooking and serving a gritty pound cake and calling it cornbread.

I liked Black Eyed Pea much better. Food is adequate, nothing to rave about and I do not crave this place. Family likes to eat here occasionally, so I go.

Good service. Fair priced. I ordered the Big Texan chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. Was delicious. Friendly country cooking. Will be back.

Unpretentious place with surprisingly good food. Our group of 6 was seated quickly . Service was attentive and fast, so perfect for families with kids. Each dinner came with a side or two, and they were so good that we greedily tasted each others' side dishes . The sweet potato casserole was amazing. Plus a basket of mixed breads. Total... More

Ate dinner here the other night. Ordered the country fried steak. i have been to a few places in texas where the steak is so big it is on a plate by itself. Not here. The steak was good. Nice flavor, potatoes were homemade and slaw was good. The corn needed a little help. maybe a homemade cream sauce or... More
