8 of us enjoyed a variety of meals from chimichangas to puffy tacos. The chips and sauce were hot and fresh. The queso was deliciously devoured by both tables. Nothing left on our plates. ****Juan was very kind to us.

After 35 years in Round Rock, I decided to try Mexican food near I-35/Mays. I have avoided Tio Dan's Puffy Taco because I assumed it was some "cut the corners" and Mexican Gringo place. What a fool am I. I had their famous Puffy Tacos and WOW....they are awesome. Just for grins I ordered their barbacoa tacos....the were equally good.... More

Was not a great experience. My wife ordered the Puffy Tacos and was mostly pleased with freshness and preparation. I order beef fajitas. It was 8pm and they were out of beef. My backup, chicken fajitas were "ok". Waitress was new, but obviously had little training. Had to have help explaing the menu (understandable), but I had to find her... More

My husband never had a puffy taco saw this place and decided to try it. Worst decision ever...grease was running down our hands and face. Bottom of to go box was filled with grease.

We are fans of Tio Dan himself. What a great guy! His pride in his restaurants and hard work pays off. The puffy tacos and guacamole are delicious and the staff was super friendly. Tge restaurant isnt fancy, but the food is really good! For the best burgers in tiwn, try his other place Little Red Wagon.

The menu is hard to beat. Dan's has the best puffy tacos in the area. Actually, there's not too many places that make them. Everything we have tried here is good. Even the chips.

Loved the puffy tacos. Prices were reasonable and quick service. Son got the junior burger and it looked good. Food was hot. No liquor served, but food is well worth the stop.

Tortillas were too greasy but the meat was surprisingly good.. so i dug out all the meat and salad topping and ate it that way... was much better.. but the service was excellent. And had 2 glasses of their tea which was also pretty tasty.

I like grease. Usually. Tio Dan's had the look - kinda run down, worn out, local dive look - which usually means great breakfast tacos. A barbacoa and a chorizo con huevos breakfast tacos were my choice this beautiful morning. Boy was I disappointed! Both were swimming in grease - it was just too much. Also, the tortillas were not... Let's be honesty, the place is close to a "hole in the wall," but the dining room looked and smelled clean. We started with crispy chips and a very flavorful salsa that was spicy but not over high in capsaicin. The service was average and we received our food quick, hot and with a nice presentation. The pictures on the... More
