Stopped by for coffee and sweets based on a recommendation of a local acquaintance. The first tip that this bakery is special was that there were dozens of large, to go orders waiting to be picked up on several tables. Everything in the bakery case looked so good that it was almost impossible to make a choice. we tried several... More

Everything we tried was delicious. Hope to go back for lunch. Couldn't pass up small serving of bread pudding at the counter. The lemon sauce was awesome.

This is one of the best bakery's I've experienced. It's always fresh. It is delicious. Good coffee & tea. Burgers and sandwiches too.

We came here years ago while traveling. On the road today we decided to stop somewhere to eat and remembered this was nearby. It is as good or even better than we remember. So many kinds of delicious kolaches! I say just try it all. We haven't found anything that we don't love.

We had been on vacation and were on a quest for kolaches. We like to sleep in and by the time we get to the bakeries, all of the kolaches are gone! We arrived at the Kountry bakery around noon and there, at last, were row upon row of the luscious pastry we had been seeing! I was in heaven!... More

Anytime we travel West of Schulenburg, on the way home we always stop for kolaches and poppy seed buns/loaf. We get about 4 dozen to share with our children. This time we picked up an extra dozen frozen that are usually from the previous day and priced much less that fresh.

My family has been stopping here for years...and today it was our turn. Their kolaches are soooo fresh and delicious. You can't go wrong with any of their selections. We got the last two pecan rolls, there's a reason they run out. My personal favorite is the cream cheese. If you find yourself on I-10 near Schulenburg, Texas...STOP! By a... More

My husband and I took a day trip to view the painted churches in and around the Schulenburg area. We were on a tight budget and had a great lunch across the street at the City Market across the street (see separate review). We decided to cross the street for dessert. We ordered 2 slices of apple streudel and paid... More

Non believers call these pigs in a blanket or sausage kolache. Its not their fault, they just don't know any better. If you have solid Czech background you know its a klobasnek or Klobas. The ones in other towns and bakeries all use a skinny like sausage or weiner. These are the best. Homemade sausage about an inch in diameter... More

Passing by and has to stop. They serve a wide variety of Kolaches, a Czech pastry filled with anything from fruit compote to jalopena and sausage. Pies are home made there and they have a good variety of them.
