We were so happy to get back to the Island and be able to enjoy the fresh Gulf Shrimp. Dirty Al's is not fancy, it is very laid back, noisy, usually very busy, and has a fun atmosphere. Have not found any others to compare. The very best Shrimp in Texas!!!! The french fries are very good. Fish is very... More

This establishment is the same a as Daddy's, owned and operated with basically the same menu. The view of the bay is nice, but nothing else is overwhelming

Pricey for nothing special. Came with a wedding party. Staff was friendly quick. I had alfredo with blackened shrimp. It was kinda funky. Almost like the sauce was days old. Took two bites and left the rest. Ate the shrimp off the top.

Nothing fancy here, just great food and service. Had the New Orleans style shrimp and they were excellent. Then tried the fried shrimp and it was also excellent. Next time I'll get a botana and try the fried oysters.

Years ago it was. Not any more. Had to send burned, dried up stuffed crab back to kitchen. Shrimp was small; french fries not worth eating. Don't order salad unless you like old iceberg lettuce with tasteless tomatoes. Left the place still hungry and very disappointed in the money spent on what amounted to glorified fast food.

Very courteous staff and a laid back atmosphere. Shrimp and Fish combo was the bomb. Offseason and red tide precluded any oysters this trip but they are the best.

Fresh fish, cold beer, cheap prices . What more could you ask for? Great service, large quantities of food - took leftovers for lunch next day

Nice atmosphere, great food. I went back in May and couldn't wait to get back to Brownsville to eat there again. It was even better than I remembered it!

About Us
Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world.
As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico.
A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team!
Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.
