Very good burgers and fries. Local craft beer on tap. Nice underground venu with funky vibe and colorful local customers but mostly a tourist crowd.

Stopped at La Kiva for dinner and this establishment is partly set a half story down in the ground in front and opens onto a patio in the rear. Had a hamburger with fries and my wife a salad. No TV's were seen. There was posted no dogs on the front door due to complaints. When we went out to... More

My husband and I stopped in for lunch and were shocked at the prices! $18 for a burger is way too expensive, and the surroundings do not support such luxury. It's a cave like setup, looks more like a hookah bar with couches and lounging areas.

My third trip to Terlingua had to entail walking in the door of the infamous La Kiva, which might as well be designated as "city hall." This place is all in the eye of the beholder, unique in every way in its own right as well. Great place to have some booze and meet the locals, or just be yourself... More

After reading reviews about La Kiva, we decided to orders drinks and appetizers before making a decision to order dinner. That was a very wise decision. I have to say the bartender was game to make a drink unfamiliar to him and he did a very good job. So the four of us ordered drinks and found a table, as... More

Went there on a friend's recommendation, is spite of some pretty mediocre reviews. There were a few empty tables on a Saturday evening. However, took about 10 minutes to be seated, and another 10 to take our order. The Terlingua Strip, at $20, was certainly edible, but a bit on the tough side. I guess Terlingua Strip is not the... Interesting decor and lots of local color. Limited menu and ultra slow service. Do go, don't go hungry!

The the night we were there, the place was very understaffed. There was one young man who scarcely had the time to deal with our family. We had to get our own menus and it took a long time to get served. We all had pizza , because we thought the prices for the other meals was ridiculously high, considering... More

The bar and restaurant at La Kiva is once again open for business after a 14 month rebuilding project. The super modern kitchen is delighting customers with our constantly changing menu. Come and visit this iconic bar. The rock walls are up to four feet thick, huge patio, parts of the bar are underground and parts are semi subterranean. Live music changes frequently. Call for up to date information.
