Good food, great people. No fancy, very welcoming. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the service was a bit on the slower side and we had a boat tour scheduled and everything got a bit tight, but in the end things worked out beautifully.

We had lunch here while waiting for our boat tour to start. It is right next to the marina. The servers are all friendly and seem to know most of their clients. The food was fresh. In the other hand, hot chocolate my daughters ordered was awful.

I can't recall visiting a more friendly spot. A group of friends were canoeing Caddo Lake and selected Shady Glades Resort as our put in spot. We stopped here for breakfast before setting out in our canoes. Not only did the waitress greet us, but guests at the other tables also called out "good morning!" We were unfamiliar with the... I ordered the chicken fried steak which makes about 3 meals and it was good but not blow my socks off good. The service was slow and it seemed like we were forgotten several times and my order wasn't quite as I had requested. It's worth a visit though.

Almost exactly one year later I returned to Shady Glade Cafe. I was NOT disappointed but just the opposite. I learned it has new ownership and even met the young man who is their cook. Becky makes the best cole slaw and is very friendly. The finest home cooking in the state of Texas and the largest chicken fried steak.... More

All I ate here was a patty melt and fries. The patty melt is of good size and the meat is relatively well seasoned, however the french fries were way under cooked. One was raw. Though they say it will come with grilled onions and cheese, for some reason there were mushrooms on my sandwich. Also, 20 minutes wait for... More

Best breakfast in the world! I promise. Diets aside. Biscuits/gravy/bacon/eggs and anything else you want. Homegrown and delish. Even if your life is healthy normally - you can't beat trying it... just once 'cause twice is inevitable!

Don't come here expecting haute cuisine. This is East Texas, and Shady Glade does it right. Breakfast tacos are too much food for one person, and the pancakes are as light and fluffy. The omlettes are good, too. Want fried bologna? They've got it. Pork chops? Coming up. For dinner (you won't need lunch after that breakfast), try the chicken-fried... More

I went to Caddo Lake state park to do some fishing, with a great guide named Paul, who wanted to meet me at the shady glade marina, which is out front of this cafe. I got there a little early for my 7 am appointment, about 6:30 , and this cafe Didn't open until 7. Typical of good old fashioned... More

The chicken fried steak is huge, 1lb of steak. We split the steak and ordered an extra side. We had leftover to take home. The steak was delicious. Fantastic cole slaw. The complementary pinto beans are delicious. Great food for a fair price. Do not expect a fancy restaurant. Highly recommend.
