We have been trying bbq all weekend long and finally made it to Rudy's. This place is great. My top 4 choices were the moist brisket, green chile stew, coleslaw and spicy chop. We had a few other items but these 4 stand out. The lady who took our order somehow new we were first timers, so we got a... More

We first stopped at Rudy's just North of Austin, Tx several years ago. We loved it then, so when we saw the sign we had to stop. The BBQ is just great! Order it by the pound or half pound. They offer three cuts, moist, cutters choice, and lean. We get the lean and a couple of slices of either... More

Great place to grab some BBQ and feel like your having real Texas experience. The portions are rather large, and the BBQ sauce was a winner.

This is a colorful, clean, unfussy bbq place. Signs say it is s meat market as well. Their pulled pork sandwich and beef brisket sandwiches were delicious. The sides were, as well. Everyone was very friendly. My only complaint is that it is a bit confusing for the first time customer. However, there are lots of regulars who are happy... More

Measured and sold by the pound but I still felt it was a bit small and that's an anomaly in Texas where everything is supersize. I like the bean soup.

Read the reviews, so on the way from Missouri, stopped to try it. We had 1/2 lb. of ribs and a pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was so greasy that the bun was dripping, so moved on to the ribs. The three that had meat on them weren't bad, but the one was the little end piece was so... More

Need your BBQ fix? All Rudy's are not the same, but think you will like this one. Be sure to order lean, moist, or cutter's choice as you prefer. The green chili stew is really spicey and tasty but a little goes a long way!

Met a number of friends there and had an excellent meal but had to move on to another place to talk. Very Noisy! Just keep that in mind if you are going there to try and eat and meet.

Obviously a popular place with the college students. A really fun place and great Turkey Sandwich. The Creamed Corn was really good. Hope we have the opportunity to go again.

Let me explain. Yes, they have good brisket and ribs, and yes, the place has atmosphere. But this is Baylor Bear country, and they treated this Longhorn real well !

Description
Just north of San Antonio, at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, sits the small community of Leon Springs. Founded in the 1800s by Max Aue, Leon Spring's cityscape changed when Max's son, Rudolph, opened a one-stop gas station, garage, and grocery store. Bar-B-Q was added to the operation in 1989, and Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q has been serving up tasty food ever since. The same original recipes that built Rudy's Leon Springs' reputation are now available throughout the Southwest. Our pits are 100% wood fired with oak, a slower burning wood than the mesquite used by others. Along with time and oak, we cook with a dry spice that ensures each plate of Rudy's Bar-B-Q is perfectly ready for you. Apply some of our famous "Sause" and dinner is served.
