I was on my way to Austin when I just needed gas so I stopped in and I discovered a new love for rest stop/gas station/bakery's. This place is so clean, and the employees were so nice, even at 7 in the morning. The food was soooo Great ! I had the pimento cheese sandwich and a kolache. From now... More

Great Kolaches to eat and enjoy. Homemade and fresh. Family owned and they are well known by the locals. Gas station located there as well as restroom for quick stops while travelling. Food prices average 3.49 to 4.99 each. They have long lines during hours of 12 noon to 1 pm. A MUST TRY!!!

Have made a point to stop here every time my car passes West, Texas. Buy baked goods to heat and eat immediately and a dozen of so Kolaches to take home, freeze and eat till the next time. Have enjoyed this for over 30 years.

These are very good kolaches. They are cheaper than Ol 'Czech , but I find Ol' Czech has a little better flavor...... And they're a block away. Just saying

I heard so much about West and all the kolache places that I had to stop here. I had two kolaches, the nutella and the cream cheese, and both were delicious. The line was literally out the door, but it moved fast. There's a huge selection of pastries, sandwiches, etc. as well as candy products, like pecan brittle.

8 kolaches and a loaf of day-old rye cost a bit $10. Lots of people, but the staff moves the lines. There are really two shops as part of the gas station in a single building. The one on the right is more of a bakery, the left more like a gas station convenience place. Go left for rest rooms.... More

A local told me I had to come here, so glad I did! I'd never tried a kolaches before so I picked up a variety: Nutella, pineapple, and apple. Yum!!

Being of Czech heritage, having a mother and grandmother who have baked kolaches my entire life and being from the Cedar Rapids Iowa area where Czech heritage is strong, was very surprised to find such delicious kolaches in West, Texas! They bake a mean kolache and they were very fresh! Every fruit you can think of probably! We stopped coming... More

Pretty much a must-do when passing through West. Great gas stop with better food and snack offerings than typical gas stations. Gotta getta kolache.

The lines were long but moved fast. You need to be ready to order when you get up to the counter but that can be difficult since you can't see the possibilities until you're up there. Regardless, we pointed out our choices quickly once we could see what was available. The pulled-pork kolaches were excellent. Definitely get several different dessert... More
