Highway 89 is a beautiful scenic highway running from Mexico to Canada but Fairview is on a part of the highway that maybe only diehards might drive. If you get to Fairview though in Utah, the Home Plate Cafe is a great place to stop and have a meal. The staff is very friendly, there's a great mix of locals... More

We have eaten at this restaurant numerous times over many years of coming to San Pete Co. Utah. We are not aware of ever being over charged. All businesses can get that 1 questionable employee. The food is American Basic in which a hot sandwich with gravy on the sandwich and on the potatoes is rather traditional. A dish people... More

We were going through a succession of small towns along US 50 in central Utah looking for a place for lunch when we spotted the Home Plate Café on our left. We both had the lunch specials which were prepared quickly and well. Service was good and the place was clean. We'd stop here again if in the area.

Arrived at 5:45pm for dinner. Pointed to the "Specials" sign with Fish & Chips for $7.95 to the waitress - she acknowledged. Nothing on the sign about when it ended. The meal was nothing to run home about... Got the check and the price was $13.95. Told the waitress that the special was $7.95. She in turn asked someone in... More

This was one of the worst meals I've ever had the misfortune to pay for. A small town cafe and not at all good. I original ordered a teriyaki turkey burger with pineapple - which was one of the specials. Turns out they had no pineapple which you would think they' would check before making it a special. I then... More

My boyfriend and I recently visited Fairview and ate at this cafe more then once as our hotel was directly across the street. The food is okay, somewhat overpriced but it's a very small town. After we returned home my boyfriend got a notification of a high charge amount coming through on his AMEX from this cafe. When he looked... More

Took the wife out the other evening for Valentine's Day. Thought we'd try home plate café. Lousy clam chowder totally in edible . Canned green beans . Instant mashed potatoes , so if you like lousy cooking and I who cares attitude from the staff, this is the café for you . They could care less that the food was... More

This review is long overdue but I forgot all about it. We ate at this diner twice on our travels through Utah; once in 2009 and then again in 2012. Both times the service was quick and friendly and the food was very good. We much prefer to eat at this kind of place when travelling as they are usually... More

Fairview is a nice quiet town. I like those a lot. This place is a locals' dinner. And I like those a lot too. I've ordered a full breakfast - omelet with onions and peppers and potatoes aside. The atmosphere is old but well preserved and maintained. I've enjoyed my time there.

Yesterday I had the breaded Veal and let me tell you this was the best I have ever had. I have been going to the Home Plate for many years from my childhood till now. We have a cabin in Fairview and we always eat at the Home Plate. This is a must go to for great food!!!
