This cozy spot doesn't need to be flashy like some of its Main Street colleague restaurants. It holds its own without any gimmicky lures. The menu is solid and filled with small-- NOT skimpy-- plates that will please a wide range of tastes and preferences....More

We started with Roman Gnocchi and Butcher Meatballs and we liked both but the meatballs had 5*****! The seconds were Mussels, Fettuccine with pancetta, pea & basil-pine but pesto, Rigatoni with Vermont bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. Linguine, green beans, potatoes and basil pesto, They were...More

We don't know Brattleboro, and were wandering around looking for a place to have dinner before a movie at the Latchis, and came upon the Blue Moose Bistro. We were seated at a table next to the window, where we could watch the world go...More

We were looking for something to eat before a movie at the Latchis, and the Blue Moose was in the perfect spot! Since we were interested in a meatless meal, but not tofu or seafood Italian was most likely to succeed and it did! We...More

I've walked by this restaurant countless times and finally we stopped in for dinner last week. As another reviewer said, it's unobtrusive and I think that's why we passed by it for so long. All food is hand made on sight and quite good. The...More

This is an unobtrusive little bistro but it is fabulous. Stop and eat here. A must is the chick pea fries with aeoli, wonderfully crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside with a wicked aeoli. The menu is expansive with interesting choices. I...More

We were two couples visiting from another state. We really wanted to like this restaurant; it seemed from the reviews on the website that it was to be a hidden gem. Sadly, our experience was very disappointing. First off, we arrived a little after 5pm...More

Blue Moose Italain Bistro and Chef Ken Flutie mixes it up in the Italian tradition, interpreting classic Italian cuisine with both a respect for traditional roots and a modern flair; contemporary and urban!

The Blue Moose Italian Bistro seats 24, making for an intimate feel while also allowing guests ample room to enjoy their dinner and to dine like an Italian. We suggest you settle in for a long and luxurious experience with antipasti, small bites. Then, move into the primi piatti, the "first dishes" of pasta or risotto. Then Secondi piatti, think entrées, are heartier meat dishes. Finally, it's time for dolci - dessert!!

The Italian Bistro's menu features Italy's regional specialties, inspired by the rustic cooking of the countryside, served in moderate portions, perfect for sharing and the adventurous diner. The Bistro also offers an Italian focused wine list and craft beers.

"With Italian I have learned to love pure, simple flavors; exquisite fresh pastas and homey braises, an appreciation of traditional technique, deeply flavored sauces and the classics. New England, especially Vermont, keeps me grounded and my food honest."

Chef Ken cooks the recipes of "a hundred dead grandmothers," fresh egg pastas, sauces made from scratch, all with inspiration from past generations. The Bistro's culinary team uses the freshest and finest ingredients available to devise simple, brilliant, "crazy good Italian" food.
