We have been passing through Brattleboro VT for 10 years and never knew this place was a restaurant, let alone one of this caliber. The restaurant we thought we were going to was closed, and we found Peter Haven's by chance. I've had caesar salad in many places, NEVER with a touch of duck confit. I had possibly the best... More

Peter Havens has an excellent reputation - and lived up to it; the Maine mussels appetizer with a very light tomato "fondue" broth was our delicious appetizer; my duck breast with sauce bigarade (citrus-based sauce) was the perfect combination - not too sweet and the duck cooked to perfection. Couldn't pass up the creme brûlée dessert - wonderful crunchy glaze... More

What a wonderful place to have dinner! The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet and the food is to die for! A little pricey but if you are celebrating a special occasion this is the place to go!

Creative food with superb service. We enjoyed the muscles with smoked tomato. Duck breast had a savory sauce that made it even more delectable. Rainbow trout with pesto sauce and mushroom risotto equally as delicious. Shown below is dark chocolate mousse with real whip cream. Wish I I took more pictures, food presentation was just as amazing as the taste.

Had a great dinner experience. Service was very attentive and food excellent. Monkfish special was spot on. Only minor flaw was over heated bread.

We are always completely satisfied at Peter Havens. Lovely small boutique restaurant with down home feel. The menu is locally sourced, hand picked and amazingly created by the owner Zack. From the oysters brought in fresh daily (in season), to his home made pate'. We try to plan our visits to VT so we can stop for dinner or just... More

Peter Havens is always good - from the duck to the fish of the day, the food is perfectly prepared with crunchy vegetables. The starter salad was a work of art with many local and delicate greens perfectly mixed with a a vinaigrette - the menu does not change often but there are always specials.

This restaurant would have to be my favorite dinner spot in lovely Brattleboro, VT. I've eaten 3 dinners here on each of my visits; twice at the bar & once at a table in the dining room. When the seasons permit, there are outdoor tables on the deck for drinks or your meal. It is a small but lively restaurant... More

We only stopped in for dollar oysters and drinks to kill a little time. Took us right in at the bar. Specialty drinks were most excellent. Staff was very friendly, as were the locals at the bar. A great pit stop!

This is a very fine restaurant in Brattleboro. Their most special dish in my view is their vegetarian crab cakes made from hearts of palm. I only eat fish in restaurants so can't talk about the meat, but the fish has been truly spectacular sometimes and other times less memorable, but never poor.

Peter Havens provides an elegant but relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy chef/owner Zach Corbin's accomplished cuisine. The menu has French and Italian influences (always house-made pasta and gnocchi!) But always has Zach's own culinary flare. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the intimate setting and often enjoy dining at our bar, where we serve innovative and exciting specialty cocktails. Our wine list is eclectic and ever-changing, with an emphasis on natural wines from France, Italy, and the US. Reservations are recommended.
