Best sandwich ever! My daughter found the Red Onion 5 years ago and now it is a pilgrimage for us when visiting Burlington

We wanted a casual, but healthy dinner. Got great sandwiches that were so huge we had to take half home. They were loaded with fresh ingredients, so good and healthy! Enjoyed being able to eat outside too. The 2 young men were eager to please.

My wife and I love this little hole-in-the wall on Church Street, across from Burlington's City Hall. It seems we always come here, for a sandwich after an appointment of some kind that last longer than we expected so we end up being to hungry to drive home to eat lunch. When you start with good ingredients and combine them... More

We stopped in for a light lunch. My friend had the red onion special sandwich and loved it. I had the Gaspacho and it was delicious. Fresh tomatoes, corn and black beans. Yum.

Wonderful bread....just go for the bread. While I enjoyed my sandwich the other people with me..not so much. Sandwiches themselves were okay. I ordered a gazpacho..which was more like a salsa..not too great. But go for the bread.

One of my favorite places to go with my dad. Service is always outstanding, and I love the earthy atmosphere. Great quick getaway from the bustle of Church St.

We loved the sandwiches and the atmosphere here! We had deliciously prepared egg salad on one and roast turkey on the second sandwich served on fresh, hand cut artisian bread with fresh toppings. The back of the cafe had a wee outdoor patio with three little tables and chairs. It was nice to get away from the crowds and savour... More

Love, love, love the Red Onion special sandwich! Others in our group also tried the Spinach Melt (which was great) and the chilled Gazpacho (also very good).

Second time we've been to Red Onion for a sandwich lunch. Since we'd eaten at Penny Cluse for breakfast the son and I only had pie and we didn't have to suffer much! Lemon for me and strawberry rhubarb for him. All of the bread is handmade and yummy. Don't remember the specifics but my daughter went for a turkey... More

The food here is amazing. The red onion sandwich leaves me craving a second and third even though I am so full from the first one! However, the place is somewhat pricey for a sandwich place (~$11 for a sandwich with no sides). BUT this is not my biggest issue with this place. It's the service. It is bad to... More
