We went on a warm spring evening and sat at the bar and had delicious, high quality drinks. It was obvious that the bartender cared deeply about how he presented each and every drink even when he was a bit busier. We sat near the service area and could see his interactions with the servers. He was very friendly and... More

We were on a couple gateway and end up in manchester; we did not know about the "mud season" were almost everything was closed. All the best rated restaurant we had identified were closed as well. Luckily someone suggested to is that place in Dorset, just a 10 min drive away. Place was also very empty, but was cozy and... More

So being a gastro pub, I wasn't sure what to expect . We were staying at the Barrows House for the weekend and it was perfect that this restaurant was right on site. The food was amazing! This is a place you'll want to come back to simply for the food options. It was very difficult to choose. We had... More

We ate here twice this past weekend while staying on property. We had dinner right at the bar both nights and we both ate every bite. Good selection on menu items as well as beverages. Service was great and quick. Scott the bartender was attentive and super nice. Definitely on "The we will return" list.

We loved this restaurant from the moment we walked in and were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. We had a choice of tables and opted for the main dining room. It was very comfortable and cozy. Our waiter Luce was perfect. He was informative with the menu and very attentive but gave us plenty of time to relax.... More

Excellent food, great choice of craft beers. Had the mothers milk draught ( great choice). Appetizers were mussels ( on the spicy side but delicious) truffle popcorn , spring rolls. I enjoyed cup of lentil and lemon grass soup and also had clam chowder on the table as well. Entrees selected short rib. Delicious and fell off the bone. Tuna... More

My husband and I stopped in for a drink at the bar and ended up getting food! We decided on one of the Indian week appetizers, the lamb kabobs, and the mussels frites. Both were excellent! We finished with the Samoa sundae which was excellent- just like a Girl Scout cookie! Great draft list and delicious wine. Modern and spunky-... More

The dining room has turned into a noisy bar scene. Prices are very high for the bland ambience, noise and my husbands poorly prepared meal. This is a change from our past lovely dinners we have had at Barrows House. I am glad we did not bring any of our holiday guests here. There are better dining choices in the... More

While we thank you for choosing Barrows House, we certainly apologize for not meeting your expectations. The holiday seasons are extraordinarily busy for everyone, including restaurants, which definitely leads to noisier than usual atmospheres. We are incredibly proud of our culinary staff and would implore you to come again, maybe when it's a slower time of year. More

Very disappointed in our dinners on a return visit to Barrows House. They all were sub par. Hope they get their act together and offer the kind of experience we have enjoyed in the past. We have enjoyed dining there on our visits with friends in Dorset.
