we picked up lunch after a tough bike ride - the sandwiches were tasty and there is a nice sitting area with picnic tables. very good options in the grocery for items to complete the lunch. not a bargain though.
While in Putney, I went into the Co-op. It was a very fascinating experience with a large variety of natural options for purchase.
Very good Deli and excellent little market where you can pick up most everything, including great beer, wine, snacks and local produce. Made to order sandwiches and a salad bar.
Very good food co op but small. Very Vermont. Everything you need. I would prefer some more main stream stuff. Also it is pricier than you might want. If your priority is healthy you are in hog heaven.

This was a fabulous stop! Not only were we able to do local shopping, but the food was fantastic! Also located in a beautiful area.
The order taker was incredibly rude, with an I-don't-give-a-sh** attitude. We ordered then canceled and left. Seemed like it could have been an otherwise nice experience.
