Every once in a while, the only thing that will do is a greasy cheeseburger with fries. Al's delivers, and at great prices. Not gross greasy; good greasy. Burgers are on the small side, so the double isn't as big a commitment as it sounds.

Simple and tasty hamburgers and excellent fries with a side of gravy made this a most enjoyable dinner. The fries were fresh cut and cooked perfectly, crispy with fluffy insides. I had a double cheeseburger with lettuce and tomatoes and it was very good. This is unpretentious, filling and delicious. They had a number of other menu items that looked... More

As I stood in line waiting to order, all the hamburgers were slider size, small and thin, old fashion they were not unless you know what white Castle burgers are and want to pay double the price. I ordered the steak and cheese that I was told was served on a sub roll among with an order onion rings. The... More

This place is great for takeout-- the prices are basically pennies compared to any other joint around. I honestly cannot figure out how they manage to keep their prices to low, but I'm thankful they do. The cheese fries are outstanding.....the fries undressed are great as well. But there's something about the cheese sauce. It's just a touch spicy, barely... More

Double fried french fries and good fast service and a real 50s to 60s theme going on. Enjoyable . A must do when visiting for the first time in South Burlington. Terrific ice cream to the summer months served Outdoors at the window

Nothing fancy, just a plain old burger joint that is always the same. HOWEVER - the fries are are hand cut fresh all day long and they are delish. After a good night on the town I love to hit this joint for a double cheese burger, quart of fries with vinegar and a vanilla shake - then a nap!... More

For me, Al's Fries makes incredible french fries! Established around the late 1940's, Al's has become one of the most popular lunch eateries in Burlington. It's not to be missed if you're up for 'dog's and burgers. Prices are incredibly reasonable! And the retro 1950's music makes it feel like I've gone back in time.

I have been coming here for many many years and have usually had a good experience. But last month I had my usual cheeseburger and was VERY dissapointed by it's size. These are not hamburgers but sliders! Their regular "burger" is not only tiny but wafer thin. These are not hamburgers by anyone's definition. I am afraid that management feels... More
