This place is an awesome restaurant. The atmosphere, service and food could not be better. Was here with 2 other couples and we sat in "the pit". The waitress was great and personable. Great cocktails, great wine list and the food is phenomenal. I had the best rabbit I have ever had. I will go back to this restaurant every... More

We had a fabulous time enjoying an extended evening of delicious and meticulously prepared and presented local foods! The cheeses were particularly popular. Thanks Hen of the Wood for making our dinner invitation one of my in-laws favorite stops on their tour of the east.

This is a wonderful restaurant in Waterbury that truly offers a fine dining experience. The selection of wines is outstanding and the food is artfully prepared. We had the hangar steak which was cooked to perfection with a delicious butter leaf salad. The service was excellent and the caramel pot de creme was the perfect dessert which we shared.

Four of us had heard wonderful things about Hen of the Wood, and the food was good, BUT... We had reservations and went on a weeknight, so we expected good service. There was no problem in placing the order, but there seemed to be a wait in getting the drinks and our first courses. I ordered a half carafe of... More

Amazing dinner for two. We had crispy rabbit livers, grilled octopus, rabbit leg and loin and sides of smashed potato and carrots. Top notch food and service. This restaurant never disappoints.

My wife and I went to Hen of The Wood for dinner in February. The food and service were excellent. It was the best meal we've eaten in the Stowe area in the 12 years we have been vacationing here. Highly recommended. We will be back.

One of our top places in all of our travels. Truly special atmosphere, service, menu (both food and drink). We made reservations in advance and we're glad we did so.

This was our 4th visit to Hen of the Wood (2x in Burlington) and a 2nd visit to the Waterbury location. YUMMM!!! Love coming here and we always get something exciting. It is our favorite place for anniversaries etc (we come from Boston it's that good). This time they knocked the octopus out of the park. The BEST we have... More
