We were visiting UVA for a tour and could not get into the restaurant I had picked out for us. As we were walking around, we found Basil. Food was excellent. I had the Kale and Seafood salad which was so fresh. Both husband and daughters were happy with their selections. Yummy!

We loved the hummus, baba ganoush, schwarma and gyros! (We don't recommend the burgers.) The server was polite.

A really nice spot, particularly for lunch, and just round the corner from the University. The menu offers a lot to choose from, and the salads were a particular highlight.

The food is spectacular, fresh ingredients, large portions, and the food is so good. I find myself craving the food and must go back, I think it is the best place to eat in Charlottesville not a chain restaurant, but an awesome locally owned restaurant.

Wonderful brunch with our niece and boyfriend. The various Benedicts were spectacular, as was the french toast.

Late lunch. We were looking for a light fare. Had lamb skewer with couscous, side salad, hummus, tzaziky(sp?).& pita bread. Caprese basil pesto salad with mozarella & balsalmic. Server had two wine tastings to replace the wine not available. Generous wine pours.Very good choice he offered. He also just got in and could reccommend a red ale for husband who... More

I ate here with my family, and was disappointed by the service. I hate oranges, and asked for the strawberry salad without oranges, which they said they could do. They bring me oranges on my salad, and when I point this out, the server says she is sorry and will bring me another salad. When she returns, the salad looks... More

Great place to get some authentic fresh food! The lamb kabobs are amazing! We also enjoy their fresh Turkish coffee. Be sure to stop in while in Charlottesville. It is a great experience!

Can you say BEST MEDITERRANEAN FOOD EVER? Turkish Coffee to DIE FOR? Oh! You will after eating here. I have been here multiple times. The food is always fresh, on the money, flavorful. Staff is professional and knows the menu. They can accommodate food allergies, which is important to someone like me who is allergic to gluten. My husband is... More

We shared the Phoenician appetizer and it was delicious and huge, comprised of hummus, tzatziki, labneh, falafel and more. My main course seafood salad was a melange of color, taste and crunch. My friends enjoyed their gyro sandwich and steak sandwich. Wine was reasonable at around $28 a bottle. Service warm and attentive. We had a delightful meal. Highly recommended.
