My daughters and I ordered pizza's and meatballs to take out and eat when we returned from two ceremonies and a long walk across campus. We decided to enjoy some margaritas when we came to pick up our food! The severs and host are some of the genuinely nicest people we've had the pleasure of meeting and the food was... More

This restaurant was chosen as a mid-point for two couples who had not seen each other in a couple of years and it was about equidistant from where each couple lived. When we sat down we told Lindsay, our server, that we planned to be there for about 2 1/2 hrs and not to rush us. It was a Saturday... More

Close to route 29 on the west side of Charlottesville, this old gas station turned restaurant was a great find! Lots of tables inside and out, some automotive decor, a cute bar, and a few TVs. The menu offers a variety of interesting pizzas, sandwiches, salads, calzone, pasta, and appetizers. The mezza appetizer (white bean hummus with an array of... More

This is modern light pub food with good selection of beer and wine. The atmosphere is casual and a little trendy in a former gas station. Don't worry no unpleasant fumes. I really enjoyed the gnocchi salad -- warm crispy delicate just right. My husband said the fries were exceptionally good. This is a great date night place.

Two other friends and I went for dinner and did not know it was restaurant week. (Happens twice a year in Charlottesville). This is when many restaurants in town have a few options that are really special for appetizers, main course and dessert. A portion of the proceeds goes to a charity in town. We could have ordered off the... More

I've been going to Charlottesville long enough that I remember when this space WAS a filling station! Imagine my delight when I had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious pizza dinner there on my latest trip to Charlottesville! We started our meal with the Sesame Cheese Bread - amazing! And the olive oil served with the dish was in a... More

My husband and I stopped in for lunch after seeing the reviews. My husband had the Cuban sandwich which we both found it to be delicious. Going for a lite lunch, I had the hummus platter with grilled vegetables and flat bread from the oven but couldn't finish it so took it to go. All in all, we had very... More

We love the look and convenient location of this spot, but the food is just not good. We ordered pizza and a salad and both were not edible. If you just want a drink, it is a nice location, but don't get there hungry.

Hi Catc1966! Thanks for compliments on the look and the location, but I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the food here. Seeing the date of your visit, I would guess it may be because we had just reopened and well, it took us some time to get our feet under us. Hopefully you will give us another chance and... More

Fry's Spring seems like a natural place to go for dinner and a beer before a UVa basketball and you would think that arriving at 5:30 for a 7:00 game would allow plenty of time. But when there's a 5-7 min wait to get seated with no one in line and plenty of open tables...and then the server doesn't return... More

Hi Louiedog, I am so disappointed to hear of your slow service at Fry's Spring Station this past Tuesday. Management is fully aware that the restaurant was not able to function per our standards that night, due to a number of factors, and I am very sorry your experience suffered for it. Please consider giving us another try, before a... More
