My husband and I were visiting Charlottesville on a weekday. We were staying not far from the UVA campus and our hotel had a small menu for nearby Afghan Kabob restaurant. The menu looked appealing and the restaurant was fairly close, so we decided to give it a try. Because it was already after 2 pm, the parking lot was... More

Overall I highly recommend this place for the buffet. The food was cooked very nicely. The only thing I did not like was the naan. It was hard. I am use to a softer homemade naan. The chicken was amazing. The veggie dishes were simple. Overall a really nice meal at a reasonable price. The decor is cute and stylish.... More

This is a great place to enjoy food out of the usual tastes. Herbs and spices add new dimension to dishes and the experience is well worth the visit. Moreover, the service is impeccable, friendly, precise, and quick. Portions are sizable. Try sabzi, the spinach with a twist oof zest.

We were starving and trying to find parking for a concert at John Paul Jones arena. We had limited time when we arrived, so we decided to give this restaurant a try. What an incredible surprise! Delicious food and welcoming owners and employees. This will be our go-to place before each concert. Highly recommended!

I didn't know what to expect from Afghan food but Afghan Kabob did not disappoint. The beef vegetable Aush soup was delicious. The chicken and beef kabobs were seasoned perfectly and served on a tender long-grain rice. The vegetable side dishes of spinach and pumpkin were also superb. Other reviewers have remarked that the bread was served "right out of... More

We always come in groups of 3 or 4 and order the "complete dinner for four". This is a family style meal of bolanee kadu, four samosa, large aushak, lamb tikka kabob, chicken kofta kabob, chicken breast kabob, qabuli palow, served with salad, naan and fimee, baklava and choice of tea or coffee. The more in your group the more... More

We were there for the lunch buffet. The food was tasty and there were many dishes to sample. The buffet was similar to an Indian buffet but more mellow. I would definitely return if visiting the area.

I was a bit leary of this restaurant from the outside. I didn't read reviews so we just went in so it could have been a bad call but it wasn't!! It was not crowded but that was probably because it was 4pm. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was great for the money. Nice salad, tasty chicken kabobs... More

We were invited for lunch to the restautant by a friend. We opted for the small buffet tgat they had. There were 4 or 5 items on the buffet plus the salad part. The buffet is reasonably priced. The food was tasty and service adequate.

The service here is outstanding. Friendly, offering good suggestions. You can bring your own wine and they will open it. They have the complete meal- salad, bread (nan), lamb/beef/chicken dishes. Not expensive. Don't think they are open on Sunday. Could bring a group and have a nice dinner, too. Right on route 29 near UVa. Lots of free parking. They... More
