It has been a decade since I have eaten here but the quality is not the same. It caters to tourists more than it did and the food is not as fresh. The grounds and the shops are still wonderful! Real Americana and staff who...More
We were here on a local tour with 30 people. We had a room to ourselves, attentive service and good home cooked food. Yes-the fried chicken is very good along with the stewed tomatoes and black eyed peas. These were my favorites among many good...More
The Fried Chicken was wonderful! Great meal! Well worth the price! Make sure to see the museum after you eat. The docent was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
We dined here on A Sunday afternoon. The buffet appeared a little small and the room like a closet, but the fried chicken and vegetables looked delicious. We dined on the patio which was quiet. The stewed tomatoes --to die for! The biscuits, wow! I...More
Just about the most delicious and authentic southern lunch around. All you can eat, cafeteria style, refills provided by colonial garbed servers. We live in the area and include this on our history tour with visiting friends and family when visiting Jefferson's Monticello and Monroe's...More
We visit Michie Tavern every time we vacation in or near Charlottesville. Buffet style, you pass through the line filling your plate. As you eat your server will bring you more of whatever you want. Fried chicken is amazing. A lot like mama fixed it...More
An authentic experience of colonial food in a colonial setting served by young men and women in colonial dress. The food is buffet to start followed by table service for further helpings. All for one price.
The food is good and the atmosphere is really great however, this is the most expensive fried chicken (maybe) on the planet! Don't assume by my "Fine Dining" price rate as this is NOT fine dining but the price IS!
