If you love hushpuppies, you have to try the ones they make here. Get them on one of their catfish platters with a nice side of fried okra and sweet potatoes and you have a real meal. Big portions for the money. This is some good eatin', folks. We live in Fairfax and we eat here because it's gooooooooood!

I always get the half-chicken barbecue platter. Cole slaw and baked beans sides are excellent. I have gone here many times!! Great atmosphere. Service is wonderful and servers are responsive to special requests. I love this place and have enjoyed taking guests here for a consistently great meal and experience.

I have eaten at other RHB's and they were OK but after having eaten at this place twice for company events I will never go back. Poor food and terrible service.

Not bad BBQ for the city of Fairfax. Is it the best I've ever had? No, but it's satisfying. They offer a good pulled pork, tasty burgers, and other dishes. Good-sized dining area and delivery, too. If you're looking for BBQ, I'd recommend this place.

My family LOVES BBQ and ribs - I'm not as crazy about BBQ, but there's plenty of other things to suit my palette. We like them so much we even had them cater my daughter's wedding reception. We'll keep returning.

Staff friendly, food is average. Good location. Easy to grab something quick if you work in the area. Parking can be a pain on busy nights.

I have eaten at most of the Red Hot and Blue restaurants in Northern Virginia and I know the Memphis half chicken can be excellent. This was my coice and I was dreadfully disappointed. The service was good, the host was friendly and I was expecting the usual standard. HOWEVER it was really dry, the coleslaw which is normally wet... More

Yes, I admit it - I am a BBQ snob. I have eaten BBQ all over the country. So when I traveled to George Mason University for a seminar I was excited to see a local BBQ place. The menu is comprehensive - several options for non BBQ appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. Ribs looked like their best BBQ option. I... More

The lunch special for $7.99 can't be beat! I love RHB's pulled pork bar-b-q sandwich. It comes with delicious potato salad, or you can sub for their nicely seasoned french fries. Wash it down with a sweet iced tea!!! I always seem to return to the pulled pork sandwich. But their ribs are also good! Enjoy!

Take out pulled pork potato salad was ready and delicious. Mother's Day meal and momma loved it as did grandchildren. Staff at RHB was very helpful on order size and providing utensils

Description
Red Hot and Blue is a full-service, casual-themed restaurant chain and caterer featuring delicious award-winning ribs, Memphis-style barbeque, smoked wings, and Southern sides and desserts. The atmosphere is steeped in legendary and contemporary blues music and delivers a large dose of Southern hospitality in a fun and entertaining dining environment. History: The first Red Hot and Blue restaurant opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1988, started by Lee Atwater, Don Sundquist and friends. Don Sundquist was from Memphis and served in the House of Representatives and as governor of Tennessee. The late Lee Atwater was an amateur blues musician and political figure that managed George H.W. Bush's successful race for the presidency. These men were friends who longed for authentic Memphis-style barbeque and great blues music. Unable to find that combination anywhere in the Washington, DC area they decided the only way to get it done was to open a restaurant of their own. The Memphis-style barbeque chain celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 by partnering with a charitable organization at 24 different restaurant locations. The yearlong celebration culminated in the presentation of thousands of dollars in donations to local charities. The Name: The name, "Red Hot and Blue" is taken from the title of D.J. Dewey Phillip's radio show that that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. This radio show launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray and Rufus Thomas. Red Hot & Blue Dine-In, Take-Out and Catering. Hickory-smoked Memphis-style BBQ, Ribs, Wings, Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Seafood, Full-service Bar, in a Family-friendly atmosphere with a heapin' helpin' of Southern Hospitality!
