This is a very well managed B&B with a first class restaurant. Their service is friendly, professional and prompt. The food is beyond expectation and can only be described as "gourmet". They try to use local resources for a lot of their food and wines which makes it even more appealing. It is located in an old Victorian house and... More

We arrived on a cold day to this charming Victorian era Inn located in the historic district of the town. We were warmly greeted. Check in was easy and our room was lovely. Painted light shade of lavender, the room was bright with three large windows, two overlooking the beautiful church across the street. There was a kind and welcoming... More

I hosted a celebratory reception and dinner for JMU faculty, students, and professionals at the JWH. Bill and Logan, restaurant manager and general manager respectively, did everything in their power to make sure our event went smoothly and beautifully. The food was amazing and the staff/servers made the evening enjoyable! I look forward to planning our next event here.

I stayed here in room#3 for one night while on business in Harrisonburg. I was very pleasantly surprised at check in with a brief your of the home. I enjoyed dinner in the bar area of the Inn. It reminded me so much of a gentleman's smoking room with the high back (very comfortable) chairs. Service was impeccable and my... More

My wife and I attended a wedding that was held at this restaurant. We did not have an opportunity to partake of the B&B aspect of the venue, so this review pertains to our food and dining experience. This is a quaint and charming venue to enjoy a special occasion. The bar area is intimate and feels "old fashioned" -... More

I can't imagine that there is any better lodging in Harrisonburg. Wonderfully situated adjacent to the University and the downtown, it is a walker's delight. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. If you don't feel like formal dining, eat in their comfortable bar and enjoy the craftsmanship of a first class bartender. Breakfast is all about choices and what... More

We arrived for a 7:30 PM reservation[ 3 JMU students and grandparents] had called in advance and changed the reservation from 4 to 5. Table wasnt ready but were shown to the lounge... More

Booked the winter getaway package at the Inn for my husband's birthday. Daughter (student at JMU) joined us for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was fabulous; two orders of filet mignon and I had the scallops. All was wonderful. Breakfast was disappointing for all of us. VERY high carb with virtually no protein. Included coffee cake, a parfait with fruit and... More

I have been to Joshua Wilton House many times in the past, but this was my first visit since they re-opened after changing ownership last year. I went with a friend after seeing a movie so we had an early dinner on a Friday night. We were seated at a great table in the main dining area, right in front... More

Had a fabulous dinner with friends at the Joshua Wilton House. The food was excellent. Two of us had the sea scallops with the best grits I think I've ever had and perfectly prepared green beans. Sometimes the sides make me choose an entree and these did not disappoint. The scallops were also perfectly seared and seasoned. Great meal. Another... More

Description
Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.
