First date with the wife 9 months after our baby was born. Hoped for a good experience and had a great night. A great lively atmosphere with folks enjoying themselves but not too loudly. The drinks, apps, and entrees were fresh and very flavorful. We...More

The food is great but you can't hear the person across the table from you. The lamb burgers are excellent. I'm glad we have this tasty option in Newport News since most of the eat places are horrible chains.

Circa 1918 always has good food, ALWAYS. I would highly recommend it for a special occasion or an every day spot. The only downside is it is pricier and you really need a reservation on a weekend. The staff is small and they multi-task and...More

I wanted to like this restaurant as I like the inventive menu. However, the food just isn't that great. I dined here twice, and each time the entrees were so-so. Very expensive for the average food.

We visited with another couple from out of town and had an outstanding experience. The food is fresh and local. The drinks are excellent and craft cocktails are the norm

We were celebrating an anniversary and decided to go to Circa 1918. We found out that three other couples were also celebrating their anniversary! The chef uses fresh ingredients and builds specials that are absolutely delicious. We had black bass made three ways. Phenomenal. The...More
