Enjoyed a wine tasting folllowed by a long lunch. Wine tasting covered their own olive oil with bread throughout the tasting then four wines. All were well presented but San Genovese was not to our taste - no pressure to buy. We did however enjoy the oil and bought at reasonable prices. The meal was superb - home made pasta... More

During our stay at Vicchiomaggio we had dinner in the restaurant. The food is great and the staff wonderful. Great wine to pair with traditional tuscan food.

This stop was one of the absolute highlights of my time in Italy. I was with a group of friends, and we were able to arrange a tour of the winery as well as a tasting and a simply fantastic meal. Every single one of those things was simply brilliant. The tour was most interesting, and served to demonstrate the... More

While staying at the Castello, we had one dinner here and it was sublime. Wished we had time for a wine tour. John Matta wines are terrific. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. 2 Adults and 2 kids.

This place has great views, bring your camera. The staff made us feel welcome and had big personalities. The wine was good quality but was average for the Chianti region. I would recommend dropping in for a tasting if you driving along the 222.

We attended the Tuscan banquet dinner that is held every Wednesdays. The evening starts with a tour of the winery and is then followed by dinner in the ballroom. The meal is fantastic, but the highlight is when one of the waiters sits at the piano and starts playing for the guests. The experience is unique and send chills down... More

Me and my wife went for a wine tasting on a Saturday afternoon. The hostess Serena was extremely helpful and made us feel like we were family. She spoke perfect english and was very knowledgeable about the wines that were available. I highly recommend this place on your travels through Italy.

What a tremendous view of the valley and such wonderful people. We had many of our wedding party staying at the Vicchiomaggio Castle and they all loved it and we loved spending time enjoying their views by the pool.

The setting of this almost 1000 years old castle turned into a winery is just magical, views from the room giving directly to miles of hill side wines, sun setting over the hills is breathtaking. Guided visit of the vineyard, coupled with the 4 course meal in the castle's dining room, accompanied with a perfect selection of wines, along with... More

Food was good but dining room was odd as we were put in a banquet hall that had no views and stark lighting. There was no entertainment too but perhaps we came during off season and not during the evening when they had the Tuscan Banquet.
