We never miss an opportunity to enjoy this wonderful place anytime we are in Norfolk. The ambiance is so inviting, the service always excellent & accommodating, and never a bad meal. Great menu, generous portions, and Sunday Brunch is a special treat. If you go...for Brunch, don't miss out on the bread pudding which can be added for a very nominal charge. I don't normally eat dessert, but just can't pass it up. The best ever!More

On prior trips to Norfolk, we’ve regularly enjoyed eating dinner at Freemason Abbey Restaurant and look forward to eating there again on our current trip. The food is of exceptional quality, and the service was impeccable. This evening we walked by the Abbey and saw...another award banner. Is it any surprise? This place is magical!More

We celebrated our 19th anniversary there. Great food and good--not great service. Normally, the restaurants we have chosen to celebrate our anniversary have given us dessert or something as a gift. I know it's not a requirement, but it would have been nice. I do...recommend this restaurant for celebrations.More

We were looking for a late lunch after a sightseeing cruise and before heading off on a 5 hour drive home. This restaurant was recommended. And we are very pleased we followed the recommendation. The food and service were top notch and they have on-site...parking. We had the Crab Bennie (think Benedict) and She Crab Soup. The soup was thick, creamy, with just the right amount of spiciest. It was very good although different from what the tomato base with veggies I anticipated. Give it a try!More

The Abbey is an old church turned into a great place to eat. Lots of hand carved wood and a little bit of stained glass. Food was good and service was ok too.

The lunch special on Wednesdays is a three course meal for $16. It was fantastic! I had salad and salmon. My husband had she crab soup and salmon. We both had the bread pudding for dessert. She crab soup was our favorite. Salmon came with...asparagus and rice. Good size portions and all delicious. Cheese and crackers for dinner tonight. Kyle was excellent server. Will definitely go back.More

First off you really can't tell it used to be a church if you are seated in front of the restaurant, which we were. The booth was cozy and the ball light globe was cool. The food was good, but not good enough to go...back. Service was really good and menu had good variety. My husband thought it was pricey but I thought it was about like any other. Crab cakes were my fav!More

What a fun place to eat in. The food was beyond fabulous. Wait staff was great. It was fun to see all the cutouts of celebrities at the tables not in use due to COVID. We will definitely be back!
