So good, we ate here twice!

This quaint restaurant located in Porto was amazing, so good my friend and I ate here twice. It was a small staff of just the chef and server, which created an engaging and fun environment. They even said it was the best place to make friends, and we sure did. Another customer ended up being there two nights in a row too, creating an ever lasting connection. Oh! and the Food? Also Amazing. Had the chorizo both and peppers both nights. First night we had pork cheeks, followed by the bachalau cakes. Truly Amazing and highly recommend!

Wonderful Portuguese Food

Fantastic, family style Portuguese cuisine. We loved both the food, ambience and overall experience. The pigs’ cheeks in a piquant sauce were great and wine excellent and very reasonably priced. Service both friendly and attentive. Would strongly recommend.

Great food, fantastic service and care beyond expectation.

My wife and I had dinner here yesterday evening. It was wonderful. We had crispy green beans with a honey & mustard dipping sauce and chouriço which was charred at the table as starters. For main course my wife had slow cooked pork cheeks, I had bacalhau fritters with rice and beans. Both dishes were delicious. We had such a lovely experience that we went back for lunch today. Lunch was shared plates of the beans (again), meatball fritters, a cheese board and bread. Lunch was washed down with a jug of refreshing white sangria. I've got to take time to praise the attentiveness of the staff. They were wonderful. Eu gostaria de agradecer a vocês dois pelo seu cuidado gentil. And they put up with my terrible Portuguese.

So humble and tasty place

Discrete place, discrete and nice staff, very tasty home made food. Only three main meals and you can be sure that they are full of taste and love for the final customers. We loved it and recommend.

Perfect for lunch in Gaia.

This small restaurant was perfect for lunch in Gaia. Only a couple of minutes walk from the river but away from the tourist restaurants, it produced simple Portuguese fare that was delicious and reasonably priced. We loved the crispy meat balls, flaming chorizo and fried Green beans. The homemade lemonade was a treat too.

Charming little restaurant off the beaten path

Had a wonderful dinner experience at Cozinha Da Ci, a small but charming restaurant. The service was friendly and the owner was very welcoming. We ordered the padron peppers to share and for mains the pork cheeks cooked in wine and the codfish fritters. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that my rice was headed up in the microwave, not something you want to see in an open kitchen. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Lovely lunch in a tranquil setting

This is a lovely place, cosy but not cramped, with a warm welcome that wasn't ever too much. The menu is quite short but you can check it online, not true of a lot of places. The bacalau fritters with rice and beans were excellent, accompanied by home made lemonade. Simple, fresh, inexpensive. They've only been open for 5 months but deserve to be full for this quality. Do support them!

Lovely little hideaway near river

This is a New restaurant which is lovely and cosy. The staff are welcoming and extremely helpful with the menú. Real authentic Portugueses fare. The pataniscas bacalhau were delicious (tradicional cod fritters). We were too stuffed for dessert but I saw a lovely looking chocolate mousse.

Simply the best!

Let it be said that we are "foodies". My partner is a professional American chef and I am a gluttonous chow hound. When we travel we love experiencing the local foods. Our experience was so pure. The setting is intimate, the server was delightful and the food...well let's just say it was amazingly delicious and the the secret ingredient that made it so was that the Chef/Owner made it with love.

Nice spot in Porto! We want for a dinner a Saturday night People nice and friendly and the food was delicious! We shared some appetizers, pork and fish and everything was really good! Close to the river, gives you the chance to take a walk on the river side to taste some Porto after dinner

Excellent portuguese food and service.

Had lunch in this wee place. Service was very good and the food was excellent. The starters we had were all very good especially the battered beans with dip. The star of the show was the pigs cheek, perfectly cooked melt in the mouth meaty goodness. We also had the sangria whuch was deliciuos and very potent! Would highly recommend for authentic Portuguese food.

Fantastic food

Had a lovely meal at this small restaurant just near Sandeman in Porto. Highly recommend the cabbage soup. The Pork cheeks with red wine sauce and home French fries with salad, was so delicious. This place I would give a 10 out 10 rating. Would definitely visit again and try another dish. Great value as well.

Perfect Lunch in Cais de Gaia

Small local authentic restaurant. We appetized with a glass of red wine from Alentejano valley, house made pate of tuna, fried green beans and chorizo that is brought in a clay dish then lit on fire and you finish cooking it at your table. Finished with an espresso and the chocolate tart. All absolutely delicious and the service perfect. All for a great price! Highly recommend

We found a little gem in Gaia!

Wonderful food, wonderful people. We had the flaming chorizo and the pimento appetizer which were both outstanding. For dinner the pork cheeks were tender and flavorful (best dish of our vacation) and the codfish cakes were very nice. The wine was excellent as was the service. Very genuine people. Wish they were open on mondays as we are leaving and will not be able to stop in again. Best of all, we wanted a piece of chocolate cake to bring home, but we’re told they could not do take away. But to our surprise, we’re we’re brought a piece on one of the restaurants brick pottery dishes to take with us! It will be a cherished dish in our home back in the states and will always remind us of the friendly people of Villa Nova de Gaia. Thanks

Lovely experience, recommend if you're looking for something authentic and a little quieter

In one of the side streets off the main tourist area of Gaia is this little restaurant is run by what I think is mother and daughter. Only a few tables, less than 10, so I recommend you get there for when they open at 7pm. Menu is very short, not much choice, but everything we had was lovely and tasty. A really enjoyable dining experience! Note: cash only for payments!
