The cuisine is from the north of Spain - very traditional and a welcome to the pallet. Family orientated business and unfortunately the service is often carried out without the smile (unless you speak first) If the ice is broken and time is permitted the welcome becomes more and more apparent and usually terminates with an after meal free drink... We always go there at least twice when we are in Mijas. The food is excellent and well worth the money. A bit different from tourist fare - so don't expect egg and chips! Try the grand marnier souffle - spectacular! It's family owned and run and mama is there, making sure everything is to the correct standard. Staff are... More

We have eaten here on two occasions. Both times the food was absolutely amazing, staff friendly and excellent value. Will definitely come here again when I return to Mijas pueblo.

It was our 3rd day in Andalusia and we decided to explore Mijas and we found this family owned restaurant which we ended up having our lunch and of course some drinks , while we wait for the ladies to finish shopping . The Sangria and the food was superb . We really did enjoy not just the food but... More

This is our second visit ( we were last here 5 years ago). It is still the best place to get good basque food and still run by the same family. Essential to book especially at weekends and you want to be out on the terrace. You can watch the world going by while enjoying a G & T. Very... More

We had lunch on the patio which was really nice. For starters we shared the artichokes and ham - delicious. Then we had grilled shrimp (only issue is need to devein) orange chicken, garlic chicken and pate. All rated high. For desert we shared the soufflé - for 2 easily served all 4 of us. Ice cream in the center.... More

Whenever we visit friends in Mijas a visit to El Mirlo Blanco is a must. Friendly excellent service with delicious food make this restaurant one of the best in the area. Book a table on the balcony in the evening to complete the special dinning experience.

We have had a tradision to eat lunch every time we visit costa del sol for our yearly autumn holiday. No exeption this year . Location and service in this family driven restaurant as good as we expect. The veranda is the best place to have lunch. Not full score this time because the white aspargus was not fresh as... More

Description
El Mirlo Blanco is located in a delightful setting in a traditional whitewashed building typical of the Malaga region in the centre of Mijas. The restaurant can seat 60 diners in two dining rooms that feature wonderful open fireplaces, although in the warmer months diners can eat on the terrace with its splendid views over the town and the nearby mountains. The restaurant offers traditional Basque cooking using the finest seasonal ingredients. Its extensive menu changes with the seasons with specialities that include beef stew, baby squid or excellent cod, among many others. There is also a long list of wines and spirits. El Mirlo Blanco is a great choice at any time of year, whether you choose to sit by the fire on cold days or on its wonderful terrace in summer.
