I’d like to tell you about one of the best restaurant in Palma de Mallorca. This is about Contro Corrente in Can Pastilla As a gourmet and a person who loves going to restaurants, I can say that everything is combined in this restaurant: price, quality, atmosphere, service. Here you can taste Italian cuisine. There is a varied selection of dishes, so everyone can find something for themselves. Husband and I ordered pastas for us and pizzas for children. I seem to be visiting real Italian restaurant. The dishes were great. The waiters are very friendly, they showed sensitivity to the guests and even found their own approach to my children. What amazed me was the atmosphere and the interior. There is stylish, restrained, cozy and luxurious. And the main feature for me was live music which I adore. I agree that I didn’t have time to visit many restaurants here, but of those that I have been before, this one is definitely the most magnificent. If you see Contro Corrente on your way, don’t pass by. Visiting that place in Mallorca is as mandatory as visiting Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Exceptional Italian in Mallorca

Contro Corrente provided us with probably the best food in all of Mallorca. The first time we had the pasta which was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful, we couldn't resist coming back another day to try the pizza which was also the best I've eaten in years. The staff was beyond friendly and took the time to have a short and genuinely interesting conversation with everyone. We were shocked that they had only just opened 3 weeks ago. After trying a couple of restaurants in Can Pastilla, this one is definitely the best you can get! Would recommend it to anyone. We even went a third time (in 7 days, oops..) because it was too good in comparison to the rest. The location is also charming and enjoyable with a nice seaside view and calm music in the background.

Amazing!

We came here on our first night in Mallorca and the food was amazing! The staff took the time to let us know the best local spots and beaches we could visit, and that just added to the already amazing experience. The pizza was the best I’ve ever had and seeing other dishes be served to tables and the customer reaction showed anything ordered was of the highest quality. Food 10/10 and service 11/10. Cannot recommend enough!

You did well by choosing us for your first night in Mallorca, thank you for that! We always try to enhance our guests experience so thank you for noticing that. If you tried just the pizza then come back and try some of our other dishes too. Our Lasagne al Pistacchio is a treat!

This is not traditional italian at all. Pizza was super hard to digest, and they also took over 40 minutes to bring it at our table. When i called the waiter to know what happened to our pizzas, he looked annoyed and replied that we needed to "wait the due time". Do they think they are the only one offering italian food on the island? Stay away from this place

Good food, shocking service

Came here twice when we stayed at palma Nova this week, the first visit was pleasant however tonight wasn’t. We arrived and it took 15 mins for someone to bring a menu, secondly we waited an hour for our main courses, when we asked what was going on we were told “it’s coming” bearing in mind other tables were being served! Finally the food arrived and there was no apology and I felt as it the waiters were avoiding our table because they knew they forgot our mains! However they were happy enough to charge the full amount and gave no refund for even the drinks we had to make up for this, not to mention the table next to us who actually walked out because no one bothered to serve them. Better places imo.

A beautiful place in a gorgeous setting. The service wasn’t great to start off with, as we was left waiting for a while especially when asking about whether they cater for coeliac. However we soon discovered it was just a language barrier and the meal was just incredible so did not ruin our night. A male came over who spoke English and explained they have gluten free pasta and keep it all separate and safe ! He also explained I could have the bruschetta. I thought I would just be having a salad, let alone pasta and bread !!! I ordered the carbonara and ordinary bruschetta. It was incredible !!! Can’t recommend enough, amazing food, great for gluten free in a great setting ! The expresso martini and Sangria was also incredible !!

Amazing restaurant!

Went to eat here with my mom during our stay on the Island. It was a beautiful place to sit and eat, the food was amazing. My pizza was full of flavour and my mom was very enthousiastic about her dish as well! The host was amazing, there was such a great hospitality. The entire staff was enthousiastic, took their time to make a little talk and were very kind. Would definately go here again!

We had the bruschetta to start and it was stunning. Hard to explain why it was so nice but it’s not a typical Italian bruschetta. We have the chicken which was ridiculously good and a giant portion and we also had the salmon which cooked to perfection. Yes at face value it seemed expensive but it included vegetables and potatoes and then was incredibly good. The waiter was brilliant, we had Roberto from Sardinia and he was superb. 10/10 would come back

We have been one week in can pastilla and unfortunately we discovered this restaurant only last night. Food was excellent along with service. We had a great dinner and it was a great atmosphere with live music from a guy playing sax. Really nice

We booked a table here to eat with family, we arrived around 7:30pm for dinner. We arrived and we’re seated together at a lovely table and ordered dinner around 8pm. We waited until 9pm for our food to arrive and in this time we’re not offered any more drinks, the restaurant was busy but not full - it still had a relaxed atmosphere. When the food eventually arrived one of the seafood dishes were cold and inedible and unfortunately could not be eaten. The pizza had a soggy base that resulted in it only being eaten with cutlery. The bolognaise was a small portion with little meat. The seafood meal was kindly removed from the bill however we didn’t leave the restaurant until 10:30pm having only had a starter, mains and one drink each. Slightly underwhelming overall.

Visited as a couple . Seated quickly and order was taken My husbands meal came but not mine ! Waited a little longer a waiter came and said had I ordered a pizza I said yes off he went .Another waiter came same conversation off he went ! We waited again by now my husband had finished his meal we escalated again to the waitress she said ‘2 mins ‘ several minutes later it arrived I politely said my husband has finished his to which her reply was ‘they come out of separate kitchens ‘! Slammed it down and walked off !Oddly the table next to us and behind us who came in after us had their food together and before mine !! Things go wrong which is fine but you should be polite and apologise and it’s not cheap one pizza one pasta and a bottle of wine €71 you would expect better

Sexy ravioli !

This is a fairly large restaurant inside, but as most restaurants only a limited amount of tables outside so worth booking in advance. We did and had a nice table out the front. I would class this as a posh Italian. By that I mean many traditional Italian dishes but with a little twist. Presentation was very good, even making a bowl of pasta look good. I had the fish ravioli, and when the waitress left me a side plate and some lemon wipes I was intrigued. Turns out the ravioli twist was fish inside but also shell fish over the top, very surprise and very tasty. The other main was pesto pasta, with cherry tomatoes and a tuile. Both dishes were a hit. House wine was pleasant (as I think a house should always be!). Lemonchello’s with the bill, nice. The staff were polite, even helping my husband with his Spanish when he tried to order the wine, at least he tries!

Best service in Palma!

Spain is not famous for its service. Coming here, it was a pleasant surprise to be taken care of by l knowledgeable and friendly staff, they made sure we had everything we need. The food is refined and flavorful, I loved my steak, served with perfectly grilled vegetables, as well as home-baked bread, and the Italian wine was simply divine. A must to visit and enjoy!

Stressful staff, cold food that incidentally had cut itself, relatively expensive prices for the food you get. The pasta we sent back to the kitchen but the new one that came out to the table was no better! Do not recommend!
