After cocktails on the terrace with stunning views and live music we enjoyed a lovely meal at El Olivo. The setting outdoors under the stars over looking the village was very romantic. The excellent food and relaxed atmosphere accompanied by attentive service made the evening very special. Well done to all management and staff for such a great day.

Set in the beautiful La Residencia hotel in Deia, El Olivia is one of the most stunning restaurants in the world. Everything about it is magical - the olive trees scattered around the terrace are replicated in bonsai form on the table, every staff member is engaging, attentive, personable, armed with a sense of humor and makes you feel like you are the most important person present, and the food…. Inspired by traditional Mallorcan cuisine, the menu offers something for any taste. As the sun set over the Tramuntana mountains, we feasted on tuna tataki and piglet, on monkfish and risotto, embellished by a full bodied Ca’n Xicatlà white wine. The meal was topped off by a wonderful dessert- an “orange fallen from the tree” and Mallorcan memories - chef Guillermo and his team really outdid themselves. This evening will be forever etched in our memories, and we would gladly return.

The worst treatment you can receive in a restaurant of this level. Very bad treatment from the manager. We had a reservation at 10:30 and they told us when we arrived that the kitchen was closed at that time and that they could not give us full service. The food was not good at all. The other places on the side of the restaurant are much cheaper and much better. Maybe if we would’ve dressed differently perhaps they would’ve treat us in a different way.

Dear Andrern91, Thank you for having taken the time to share with us your recent experience and insights. Your feedback is critical to us in our endeavors to consistently exceed the highest standards and services as well as leaving our valued guests with the most memorable experiences. I have to admit that it is disappointing to read that the way you describe your experience doesn`t correspond with our version of the truth. I therefore feel the need to clarify a few things to your TripAdvisor peers. Unfortunately, you had all the bad luck in the world when your car had issues on your way to the hotel. As a result of this, you obviously could not help the fact that you arrived only at 22h45. My team made sure to wait for you but since the last order for our 7-course tasting menu is at 22h30, a la carte dishes were selected instead. I respect your feedback on the food and I will highlight your comments to our chef. I see that you are from Peru, thus you have very high standards of food while living in the country that host one of the culinary capitals of the world. Danielle, your waiter that night, is one of our best waiters and he regularly receives the highest praises from our guests. It seems that what you have experienced is a bit atypical to what we are used to hear and I regret it if he wasn’t able to provide the memorable experience that our guests are accustomed to. Whilst you may not extend us the benefit of a 2nd chance to make a first impression, I fervently hope, that you will still give any of our sister property in Lima a chance to hopefully voice a different opinion. My best, Thomas Moons

Went to El Olivo restaurant for lunch. The meal was average and the service very poor. We had a long wait before anyone took our order so had to attract their attention. Then throughout the entire meal our waiter forgot our order ,various requests for drinks, ice etc. So much so that we had to ask the other waiters . We ended the meal by ordering an Americano coffee and a Macchiato. After another wait we were presented with the Americano and a huge Latte which the waiter then tried to pass off as a Macchiato! To top it all we were then overcharged for two bottles of water. All in all a very disappointing experience and not a cheap one.

This place is not cheap but worth every penny, it was a great dining experience and the service was superb. The Restaurant has fantastic views and an extensive wine list, with a great selection of local wines. The food portions are on the small side as is usual for fine dining establishments but we were surprisingly full by the end of the evening. Starters were tasty as were the main dishes, desserts and the selection of cheeses we also opted for. Additionally they also serve appetisers, and every dish (including the ones we ordered) came with its very own little description\story that is delivered by the ever attentive staff. The selection of local breads was also very good, which came accompanied by the restaurants very own brand of olive oil. Only one complaint, they charged us for appetisers that we did not even order. It would have been nice to have been told beforehand that these were not complimentary, it did not make much of difference on the bill but none the less.... it would have been nice to know. Oh nearly forgot...they also remembered it was my birthday and served us an additional desert platter. This was also very tasty and nicely presented. A great dining experience none the less and a well deserved 5 star rating., we will be back.

Starting with the champagne that we served on the Cafe Miró terrace accompanied by the appetizers, the stunning sunset view & the live music and continuing with the amazing dinner @ El Olivo, we can summarize our experience in just one word: perfect! Very fresh ingredients, particular but interesting tastes and a selection of wines for all tastes. The staff is very kind, professional and they are guiding you through the story of every ordered product, starting with the ingredients and finishing with their recommendation for serving it. Our special thanks goes to Mr. Toni Bujosa, food & beverage manager, who made this perfect experience possible for us. He is a profesionist who inspires confidence right from the moment you meet him and who provides a five-star service to his clients. We recommend an experience here and for sure we will come back!

We dined here last week to celebrate a friend's special birthday and she quite justifiably described the whole experience as magical. We had pre-dinner drinks on the lovely terrace where there was live music and then went to the beautifully located dining area where we were served an absolutely first class dinner. The suckling pig certainly lived up to the accolades from previous guests. The whole experience was memorable not least in part to the delightful and talented young staff. We could not have had better service. A huge thankyou to all concerned.

We booked this 6 months ago for a special birthday, we asked for a sunset seating and our expectations were high. However upon arrival it became clear we were to be seated in a corner behind 2 walls, the only table with no view on the sunset…. We did not agree with this and had to wait for another table to become available even though there were other tables free but already reserved for I assume hotel guests who probably get the best tables.. so this was a mood killer. When we finally got another table the sun was gone. Waiters are in general friendly but clearly ignored our booking request. They did provide my friend a birthday desert but only after we ordered desert and asked for the check. Lovely but too late. Maybe scared to loose another 20€ if she would not have ordered a desert because of this surprise? The food… I was disappointed. The amuse bouches were simple and half good/half tasteless. It was chicken broth and half an olive with something on it, gazpacho, the usual. The flavours did not match at all. The starter was a fine risotto. Then we received a lot of bread with olive oil and salt - to fill our stomachs? The main course was good and enough. I refused to take a desert as I had tasted enough and thought the prices were way too high for what we got on our plates. I am used though to good french cuisine, maybe that played a role however I usually appreciate Spanish kitchen a lot. This place is massively overrated

We have been coming to Deià for 20 years and have never eaten here because of reviews saying staff were starchy. Nothing could have been further from the truth. From the moment we got to reception to find out how to get to the restaurant, to the meal the service it was impecable. Tasting menu and wines were excellent. We Think the food wine and service are up there with the best. Faultless. We will return next year.

When we previously visited El Olive ( which is situated in La Residencia Hotel) I recall it boasted a Michelin Star which it appears to have lost. I am mystified as to why. We ate with some friends who have a place near Soller but had never been. It was sensational. I have eaten in many Michelin starred establishments and many of them fall well short of the standard and inventiveness of the food served in El Olive. As is the norm the menu is a tasting menu. There are four options: six courses, 12 courses ( I think). There is an equivalent menu only vegetarian. We opted for the lesser menu (conventional). Each dish comprised of two or three separate constituent plates and everything was completely exquisite. Could not fault any aspect of the menu and we were glad that we did not have to consume many extra courses! If you are in the area, especially if you are staying at La Residencia (which I also recommend) then eat here. But take plenty of cash. Dinner for four comes in at somewhere in excess of €800.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel and had dinner here one night. We only heard great things and were excited to try. The only good thing about this restaurant is the view. The food was awful, not one thing on the tasting menu was delicious. We've had many tasting menus and I'm not sure what this was. The food at all the other restaurants is 10/10, delicious, so we were really surprised by the quality and flavor. Would not recommend going here - eat at Cafe Miro or Tramuntana Grill if you want to eat at the hotel instead. Service was also sub par, very attentive when we sat down and then totally disappeared with questions/explaining dishes throughout the night.

Unbelievable venue, such amazing both staff and food. So charming and friendly. The views are totally mind blowing. Just bear in mind that this is a high ticket price, according to its food, service and quality so you get no surprises.

We had dinner at El Olivo for our anniversary and had a truly exceptional experience. The location is an absolute dream, especially as the sun sets and the picturesque village facing the terrasse is dimmed in gorgeous light. The food was exquisite, served in generous portions. But what really sets El Olivo apart is its outstanding service - the waiters were all very kind and especially efficient. We loved the little attentions we got for our anniversary, like the surprise cava rosé that was brought to us at the end of our dinner. Sadly we didn’t have any room for desserts, will but keep a very fond memory of this wonderful evening. Thank you to everyone in the team! We would love to stay at the hotel next time.

Not really sure what the hype is all about. The restaurant is cute but the view at Miro located at the front of the hotel is definitely more picturesque. We opted for the 6 course tasting menu and wine pairing. When we sat down they immediately asked if we would like a drink. We ordered a glass of cava and a few soft drinks. It never arrived even though we reminded them a few times. The food was good but after 6 courses we didn’t feel our hunger was satisfied. Not surprising as first 3 courses while pleasant looking - were basically a bite of food. The first course was literally 2 olives that burst in your mouth and a puff pastry, second course was a tiny tomato salad, third were 3 tiny prawns the size of my pinky nail. I would not recommend the wine pairing unless you like white wine on the sweeter side. We prefer red and only 1/6 glasses was a red. I have to say if you know anything about wine, the actual wine list was decently priced with a wide range of wines to choose from. Make sure you check your bill at the end of the night. All those drinks we ordered that never showed up were on there. Oh and they charge you for filtered water. Talk about nickel and dimming. Would not return and would not recommend anyone to eat here.

Deat TBug411, Thank you very much for taking the time in sharing your feedback; obviously I am really sorry to read that your experience at El Olivo was far from your reaching your expectations and I would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused with the beverages and your bill, this is definitely not the standard of service we are committed at. If you ever visit Deià again, we do hope having the opportunity to welcome you to our other restaurants on property as Miró or Tramuntanan Grill. Kindest regards,
