The quality of the food has gone down a little bit lately as Rich and his family sold it to someone else a few months ago. They have the same food as far as I can tell, but the portion size of the sushi rolls are smaller and the flavors are a little off. I still give this place a five star review as every time I go anywhere else, I am disappointed and thinking of Yoko. This is by far the best sushi I have ever had! My family was referred here by a coworker of theirs and we have gone back countless times for more than a decade. It is a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for, especially with the special sushi rolls!

Best sushi I have had in a long time. It reminded me of my trips to Wando island in Korea and Okinawa in Japan. I visited there twice while visiting VA. 5 minutes from Marriott. Once dine-in &two carry out. I am willing to pay extra for good quality sushi. They exceeded my expectations.

I stopped at Yoko last week for lunch after an appointment and the sushi was outstanding, very fresh. I highly recommend Yoko. Excellent service was provided by Diane!

We normally go to our regular sushi restaurant but wanted to try this one and we were a bit disappointed. I ordered the eel roll and there was too much sauce, my agedashi tofu came in a soup of soy sauce. Price is not in line with other sushi restaurants in the area. We’ll stick to our usual place.

There should be a star between average and very good. Not the best sushi within a few miles of Oakton, but good enough to satisfy the craving. I do not eat teryaki or tempura so I'm not good for recommendations on that front.

Worked late and a snow storm set it so I needed something close to the office. Wala! Yoko fit my desire for sushi with a fantastic menu. 2 pages of special rolls plus all the regular standards at most sushi restaurants made my decisions more challenging but I settled on the Lasagna roll, shiitake roll and a behemoth they call the One 4 All roll! Toro, Yellowtail, Crab and one other I cannot recall but all 3 rolls were top notch. Lasagna roll=California Roll with shredded shrimp and cheesy sauce, baked. Presentation was clean and efficient also. And they are just a stone’s throw north of 66 on Chain Bridge Rd. Easy in/Easy out. Staff were super friendly. VERY clean dining area and due to the snow - NO WAIT!!

A friend recommended this place to us, so we decided to try it. They had a few specials that looked interesting, but we decided to order sushi and tempura. Both were tasty. We will go back with some friends soon.

Stopped by for lunch, and it was pretty empty. Wanted to get some sashimi, overall salmon and tuna were fresh, but tuna pieces were huge, I could barely chew off half of the tuna piece, it was very fatty. Looks like price went up as my lunch ended up being 34 dollars with two orders of sashimi salon, one order of sashimi tuna and shrimp tempura roll

Visited for dinner on a Friday night and had no issue walking in and getting seated. We ordered six rolls (traditional and specials), which were all very good as the fish was fresh. The service is very good. Overall, it’s a bit pricier than what I typically pay for sushi, but I would return again.

I have been going to Yoko for years (sometime in the 90's, I believe). I followed Yoko out to Herndon and drove 15 minutes for carryout (even after a change of ownership) until that location closed. We have continued to drive to Oakton periodically for sushi and decided to head there tonight. It was under-whelming. First, we ordered tea. It tasted like hot water. When we asked our server about it, she told us they had recently changed vendors. Next we ordered edamame and seaweed salad. The seaweed salad was somewhat bitter and not the same as in the past. Next, we ordered sushi. My hamachi had quite a bit of skin on it. I sent one piece back. One of the pieces of our dragon roll ($17/roll) came with a 4 inch by 1/2 inch piece of clear plastic on it (I guess from the broiled eel). When I showed it to the server, she asked to show it to the sushi chef. Their solution was to offer us another dragon roll (but, at that point we were full). They also sent over an additional dish, which we didn't eat. My expectation given the cost of our meal ($148 including tip) would have been an apology for a subpar meal and for them to take at least the plastic dragon roll off our bill. Nope. I am sure we'll give Yoko another chance at some point, but I doubt I'll make that 30 minute drive again any time soon.

I have eaten here a few times, and my son has esten here a number of times and really liked it. This time the sushi, although well made, just didn't have really good seafood. The tuna was tough, the white fish were band and also a bit chewy. The best items were the California rolls and the unagi. Maybe we had the B team today, or maybe they had trouble getting the best ingredients. Excellent service and still a nice place, but not quite what we remembered or expected. And it's gotten pricey.

Yoko is an unassuming small restaurant in a suburban shopping center, with some of the best sushi I have ever had! The greeting at the front door is warm and genuine. The décor is charming and serene. The sushi selection is broad and seasonal (Chesapeake crab in season); and the servers are super helpful if you need assistance, or have questions about something you haven't tried before. I also love the tempura, and the beer and cocktail selections are really well done. I haven't yet sat at the sushi bar, to watch the chef in action, but he always has his fans!

Excellent sushi - rolls are a bit on the larger side. Prices are a tad high but overall a pleasant experience.

My family and I go to Yoko whenever the yen for Japanese food surfaces. It is a pleasant, fresh and calm restaurant with perennially smiling staff. I often ask for my sashimi to be cut in a specific way I enjoy and they always accommodate cheerfully. Always an enjoyable experience.
