What a fantastic evening, the food was amazing, and staff were very attentive, and very helpful, on last minute changes! We love the rustic ambience, and with the woodburning stoves, it makes a lovely cosy atmosphere. We will certainly be back next year!

With storm Angus closing in, my husband's idea of taking me for dinner was not looking too inviting. We don't have to go far he says..Sumners is close and I know their log fires would have cranked up by now. Now that did sound inviting. Off we went into the wind and the rain. Upon arrival, it was quiet, but... More

Lovely view, but please bring your own food and drinks! This place looks over the lakes and is quite nice in the summer when the sun is shining - but - make sure you bring your own food and drinks because the service you get here is very very bad. Drinks and ordering food takes too long and they didn't... More

Quaint and delightful place. We stayed and chatted since the atmosphere was cozy. I fear we ate too many sweets, but it was worth it.

Had a lovely lunch here, great food and location, nice staff & WiFi. The lunch rolls are very tasty especially the pulled pork and BBQ sauce.

We came here for lunch but got so caught up catching up missed it by 7 minutes! So instead had a slice of cake and hot chocolate. We had the cappuccino cake which was wonderful. Beautiful setting and very accommodating staff who were very friendly and polite. I will definitely be coming here again

I went to this gorgeous little cafe in the summer and it was such a breath of fresh air. We sat on the river and had an amazing view of the surrounding estate. The meal was divine and very reasonably priced. As the sun set the heaters where lit and we were able to stay out under the stars. They... More

I visited Sumners Pond with a group of close friends in a spur of the moment decision after hearing many good things about it. When we arrived The cafe more than lived up to expectations. The name 'Cafe by the Lake' though self explanatory does not do it justice as once you arrive you are met with stunning views all... More

This cafe, in a idyllic spot, has gone downhill as it's got bigger - sadly !! Yes, it's nice to have more seating & facilities but not at the expense of customer service & cleanliness ! Have been several times over the last six months & seen & experienced its demise !! 1. Milk jugs were dirty, even after the... More

Thank you for taking time to review our Café by the Lake at Sumners Ponds. For sake of ease, I shall answer your points in the order that they were raised: 1) There is no excuse for dirty milk jugs. Having looked at the jugs myself, the pouring spout of some of the jugs has discoloured, from white to grey,... More

Went to sumners ponds cafe for breakfast with my wife and two young sons, it was very busy had to wait for a table but it was worth it. Great cooked breakfast in a nice location, I would advise to go early as it gets busy in summer time.
