This is a very smart eating place suitable for couples or ladies lunches. The food is good, although I personally thought the portions a little small. Do a reasonably priced daily two course lunch. Worth a try.

We went for lunch mid week, it was quite busy but the service was very good and we did not have to wait long for our food. It is not a cheap place and I would describe the food as very good quality pub grub. The wine prices are in line with expectations for this type of restaurant. The service... More

Platter to share as a starter was good. Pork belly was good, as weres the steaks ordered. Just ask for some extra sauce if you like your condiments like I do to accompany your meats. Dessert.... I don't usually have a dessert but as the portions aren't huge, you'll have room for a sweet and they're all good.... but again,... More

I visited here with some friends and it is very superficial, the restaurant equivalent of mutton dressed as lamb. After enviably eying up other guests starters, we ordered some platters to share. Unfortunately it was a real let down, some examples- battered halloumi (this is wrong on so many levels, ends up making the cheese a bit soggy and you... More

Ribs starter were horrible. Turkey main was ok and the sticky toffee pudding was some kind of very unfunny joke. It was even smaller than the ones u warm up in a microwave. Kids meals were overly simple to the standard of McDonald's. Ice cream for the kids with my youngest having a very small portion compared to my other... More

We visited the Shepherd & Dog for Sunday Lunch, having booked on the Saturday. They were very accommodating especially as it was a late booking. It was a table for 10 & we were seated in the bar area, I believe we had more room also than the diners in the main restaurant. Myself & my husband had the roast,... More

Arrived at pub and was very warmly greeted and taken to our table. Waitress explained that a new menu was running for the first time. She explained the menu and apologised as they didn't have the crab as it hadn't arrived which was not a problem. Waiter came and took our order and when asked if he had a wine... More
