My husband and I visited in May 2016 and even though it was the off season, Trout River was beautiful and our meal at the Seaside Restaurant was a highlight. The fish chowder was some of the best we'd had on our trip and I'm still thinking about it now. The fish burgers were wonderfully fresh and crispy and the... More

First, the service was very pleasant and quick. The food was good - I ordered the cod tongues platter. This was the first time I've tried them, so I have nothing to compare them to, but they were tasty. My wife enjoyed her meal. The views of the coast were very nice. A great end to a day of hiking... We had planned to go here for lunch after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor when we prepared our itinerary for Gros Morne. We are very glad we did. We arrived just as the restaurant opened so were given a coveted table by the window. It was a gorgeous sunny fall day so the views were spectacular. Our waitress was... More

First, the view is one of the best in Gros Morne (which itself is fabulous if you like off the beaten track!). Then, we had lobster and local fish, and it all was excellent. Best lobster in Gros Morne, and their local fish was amazing. They were even able to provide gluten free fried fish, which was a great unexpected... More

Stopped for lunch. My scallop salad was fantastic. My husband had the seafood chowder which was delicious. The fish burger was fresh and tasty. Very good value overall and friendly service.

Loved the food, the friendly service and the music. Worth the short trip to get there. Fried cod dishes were excellent!

This was the best lunch of many good ones we had on our tour of Newfoundland. The three fish - cod, turbot and capelin - were excellent and they serve a sensible small dessert of delicious tarts. Service was friendly and prompt and the view is great from the airy, upstairs room (not sure if it is accessible). There is... More

We saw a bus here while passing through so stopped for lunch. The people from the bus must have been in a separate area upstairs because we had no problems being seated downstairs. The service was good as was the food. The prices were moderate to high depending on whether you ordered from the lunch or dinner menu but the... More

We came here because we were looking for seafood and a sign on the highway hours earlier had advertised the Seaside. After the incredible drive through the Tablelands and a couple of hikes and walks this was a great way to spend part of the afternoon. Great food and everything we were looking for.
