Tasty good kiwi fare, we enjoyed our beers and meals out in the garden bar, lots of entertainment for kids, chess, pool and even some badminton rackets

Four of us ate here a couple days after Christmas. We got a deal from Grab One which gave us a three course meal for two and a nights accommodation for $99. I have to admit that it was a lot better than I thought it would be. The staff were great and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The food... More

Genuine, friendly service at Turkey Red. A tasty whitebait fritter as an entrée and then the roast of the day, pork. Not large meals and the whitebait were a little elusive in the fritter but on the whole a good, tasty meal served with a nice glass of Paulonia (spell?) pinot noir and a beer. An older pub with some... More

Had an evening meal here. They had a live band playing which was mainly country music. Bar staff were friendly and helpful

Turkey Red is on the main street of Greytown and although we had a room at the rear, the all-night noise from the traffic kept us awake. The room was also hot and there was no air conditioning. The atmosphere in the restaurant was welcoming and the food portions were good, but parts of my main course had not been... More

We made the mistake of not asking how long our meal would take when we were on a mission to get to Eketahuna before dark. Waited 40 mins for a very small garlic bread, it was not meant to be a leisurely evening for us. Once we talked to the boss, she arranged for our meal to be cooked straight... More

This restaurant is in a small town we stayed, Greytown. It was a cozy atmosphere, great staff and really, really good food. I highly recommend it for a dinner or lunch stop. I'd definitely go back!

Stayed overnight on a Saturday and had dinner in the hotel. The accommodation was very shabby with not very clean shared facilities - no ensuite toilet/bathrooms. There was no TV except for Sky Sport in the bar. Our room was tiny - more a single size, despite having a double bed - and the bed was very uncomfortable. Music from... More
