This gem has been open in Portsmouth’s Old Town for just about a year. I discovered it by chance on their opening night and have been back many times since. The owner, Mandy, is a local and has created a chic, intimate wine bar which...invites one to sit and sip for hours. Seating is available both at the bar or at tables for couples or small groups. Wines are purchased by the glass or are available by the bottle at a very reasonable price to carry out. The current offerings vary monthly with the current options displayed by the bottle behind the bar and on a printed menu. Likewise, the tapas menu of small plates and desserts changes regularly. No matter what is being offered, Mandy and her staff are friendly and knowledgeable on both the wines and on suggested pairings. Stellar is sure to delight.More

Excellent selection of wines for any taste.

Stellar is ideally located next door to one of the best movie theaters anywhere, The Commodore, so you can stop in and enjoy one or two glasses before the movie. You will have around a dozen wines from which to choose either by the glass...or bottle. We haven't had a chance to enjoy many of the food offerings, but try the pepper jack pimento cheese flat bread.More

Brunch

Amazing brunch. Great food, cozy atmosphere, and very personable staff. We had the pineapple upside down waffles, sweet potato frittata with onions and bacon, cappuccino and mimosa. You must come try this. Great local family run business.

Awesome wine bar!

Awesome wine bar! They have a large selection of wine by the glass. And a retail section cheaper then total wine. They serve small plates, meat & cheese, flat breads. Also on the menu is a soup and pasta of the day. Don't forget deserts.

Great place in Olde Town

There is always a wide, varying selection of wines. Owners and staff are very friendly and contribute to the overall ambiance of the place. The food is good as well. We love places like this and Stellar is a gem for downtown Portsmouth.

Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere

Situated next to the Commodore Movie Theatre, this new wine/tapas bar is a great place for an adult experience (though children are welcomed). Every bite of the small plates is heavenly. Mandy, the owner, is a wine expert and eager to explain the benefits of...each wine. You can also purchase wine to go. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. Wine Lovers Dream

This small, cozy restaurant is perfect for a bite to eat and have the owner suggest the perfect glass of wine to go with it. Mandy knows what she is doing when it comes to wine. I tried a glass of Malbec to go with...my salad plate. I was not disappointed!More

Comfortable Classy Wine Bar

Stellar has an excellent selection of wines. The proprietress can recommend based on your desired description or pair with one of her small plates. The cheese and charcuterie plates are my favorites but there's enough of a selection to satisfy for lunch or a light...dinner. Stepping in off of the street the atmosphere immediately puts you at ease and the weight of the world slips away. It's a magical place.More
