Had the Clydesdale. 1/2 pound burger with fried green tomato, bacon and pimento cheese spread. Large and delightful. Server helpful. Restaurant was clean and well lit. Prices seem a little bit high, but overall a good experience.

It all starts with the owner, Scott. Great guy who looks after his customers. Your meal will be top shelf and the best by far in the area. Staff is absolutely a delight, with friendly suggestions and plenty of knowledge. Highly recommend the Bacon Bison Burger. Make this Classic, a "Must-Stop" if your traveling down I-85, HWY-58 or HWY 1

I gave this restaurant a 5, but it's more along the lines of a 4.5. The service was great. The food (and by food I'm saying DO NOT pass up the green tomatoes) was so good, save room for dessert too! Best fried green tomatoes I have ever eaten! The restaurant was clean. My only complaint was it was so... More

Something different with a local history. Food decent & prices reasonable. Wine & beer available. Lots of families!

i had the burger with homemade pimiento cheese and it was a sloppy good eat. The only good sandwich is a messy sandwich. My friends each got different versions of the sliders and as they are petite and delicate female types, they were amply satisfied. Atmosphere great and food is wonderful.

I finally got back to South Hill and to the re-opened Horseshoe. It is still excellent. The Mecklenburg sandwich is excellent. The tomato basil soup was great as are the fried green tomatoes and the incredible pimento cheese. Better yet order a Clydesdale hamburger. Bacon cheeseburger with pimento cheese and a fried green tomato. It is incredibly good.

Just because a restaurant is touted for its down-home food, doesn't mean it has to be greasy. As many great reviews this restaurant has, I was disappointed to find it was just too much of a greasy-spoon for me. The onion rings were served in a large portion and were very crispy. I once had fried green tomatoes at a... More

We ordered the pimento cheese appetizer with baguette slices.... Unfortunately the bread was saturated with butter which became more like a thinly sliced crouton. We ordered the rueben sandwich with fries which was pretty good with decent amount of meat and it came out hot. We also had the Cobb salad which also had home cooked bacon and not pre... More

Great Service and great food! We had fried pickles, mushroom Brie soup, Fried Green Tomato BLT, and sweet tea. All were delicious! Adorable location and friendly staff. Can't wait to drive through South Hill again!
