Traveling I 81 our usual stops are Cracker Barrels . Quick in and out OK food & prices. Yesterday, however, my Bride and I found a GEM! At Exit 222!! Mrs. ROWE'S! There is a very friendly staff, GREAT FOOD even better prices and desserts to die for!

We have eaten several times at Mrs. Rowe's when traveling through the area. We were disappointed when we stopped here last October. We went for dinner because we stay at the motel next door. We ordered liver and onions and chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak was tough and my wife had to send her mashed potatoes back because... More

I generally try to stop at Mrs. Rowe's when I pass through the area twice each year. The food is always good. This time the wait staff were not friendly - would not hurt you to smile. An older African-American gentlemen who came out of the kitchen to replenish the clean glasses did take time to smile and speak -... More

Skip this place if you are looking for a healthy meal. The staff is very friendly and possess a down home charm. We always try to use the local eateries when we are on the road to support small businesses. But the bottom line is this, the food is unhealthy. My wife and I are originally from Virginia and now... This pleace is a local feeding trough. My wife and I went there for our annivesary. The steak was dried out, as it was almost mummified. My fried chicken was cold and grease was dripping off. This is the worst meal we have ever been served. We are locals and have lived in the Shenandoah Valley since 1999. We have... More

A Shenandoah Valley legacy for traditional meals like open-faced roast beef sandwiches and delicious sides like mac-n-cheese and pinto beans. Prices very appropriate, especially on kids' meals. Delicious pies and baked goods like cookies. Family-owned, home of local civic club meetings, very clean, full of locals and knowledgeable travelers. Close to Interstate. This is the kind of restaurant my late... More

Well, we read the reviews on Trip Advisor, and the parking lot was full, which was all very promising. We were on a road trip South and chose this restaurant because it was not far off of Rt.81 and we timed it for a,lunch break. The restaurant was very disappointing. The waitress was not friendly, nor was she rude. We... More

Seems not many options on 81. Almost gave in and visited Cracker Barrel but saw Mrs Rowes first. So glad we stopped. Weekend breakfast special was so yummy! Biscuits just like mamma made and the gravy was perfect. Loved it!

We've had breakfast at Mrs. Rowe's Restaurant many times... Has always been very good.... Stayed at Best Western Staunton Inn and was very happy to see Mrs. Rowes right next door within walking distance... Very good dinner at very reasonable prices....
