This is a fun stop for lunch, ice cream or take home for dinner restaurant. Good barbecue, hamburgers, sandwiches and great fries. Lots of choices and fairly fast.

Like the title says - I went here with great expectations. The reviews were good. The staff is friendly and attentive. The menu is large. The atmosphere is very casual but comfortable. The wines and beers available rival those in major cities. Then we ordered our meal.... I opted for the fried seafood combo with oysters and crab cakes. My... More

Have eaten here twice recently for lunch and enjoyed the brisket so much the first time that I had it again the next time. My husband liked the soft shelled crab sandwich. My friend shared her tri tip which had a wonderful flavor too. The sides selection is fine but would like more choices for vegetables beyond the green beans.... More

We were on our way back to Charlottesville from a weekend in Mathews and stopped here for lunch. We tried the dry-rubbed ribs, pulled pork, and smoked brisket--all were well-flavored, tender, and tasty. You have your choice of sauces, and the traditional sides (greens, beans, and mac n cheese) also were delicious. The signature hoe cakes (corn meal with a... More

I visited this, my second visit, for dinner rather than lunch. Really disappointed. The hoe cakes are suppose to be their signature.. they were not much...and poor compared to my first visit. Really it was like a dull floury pancake... without the flavor. I will probably not be back...

Where else to be on a warm November night? Great food, noisy but fun ambiance, and very friendly fellow diners to talk to while you wait for an open table! We enjoyed several conversations while they set our table up. You can't go wrong with the kickin' chicken or any of the barbecue. You can order a side but might... More

Awesome. Wish we had dinner there also. Try the homemade ice cream. The molasses cake with lemon sauce the best.

Very good food with unique choices! The service was average but the quality of the food was worth the lack of attention.

Recently went to Domething Different for dinner with the fam. We have been here a few times and they have always prepared excellent food. The pork barbecue and beef brisket are some of the best I have ever had. The specials have been great every time I have tried them. Also, do yourself a favor and get some bread pudding... More

Just stopped by for a couple pieces of pie. They were out of two of the kinds we wanted but we had a delicious piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream for about $3.50 each. Everyone was friendly and it looked like the diners ein the other room were enjoying themselves. We'll come back to try lunch. Only negative is... More
