The view is stunning, the food is delicious, the service is always perfect (thanks Michelle!). Definitely one of our top spots of VB!

Fantastic upscale sushi and Asian fusion restaurant. The rooftop views are simply unbeatable in VA beach. Service was fun and professional. Food was mouth-wateringly great and drinks were perfect. This was our 7th and 8th visits in four stays at the Marriott Virginia Beach. And every visit was 5 Stars. The food and wine are always excellent and the suggestions by the waiter staff always "spot on." I was looking forward to the short...ribs during the dinner visit, but unfortunately, they were no longer on the menu. But our waiter, "Jon", suggested that we try the lamb as it was a new offering by the (new) Chef. My wife chose it and wasn't disappointed. I had a bite too, and it was excellent. The only suggestion from two Americans that spent 17 years "down under" in Australia, was that a little mint jelly on the side would have been nice. I asked Jon what he suggested for myself and he recommended the duck. I was hesitant as many restaurants don't get duck right. Usually, its a bit dry and less flavorful. Well, Jon's recommendation was also spot on! The best duck I remember and that's with 20 years in Asia! The vegetables were quite varied with an Asian flair and the duck was moist, tender and exceptionally delicious. With the Pinot Noir that Jon also recommended with the duck, a great pairing. In fact, and with years of experience with wine stored in my Euro Cave from France, it was so smooth and palatable, that even someone that usually wouldn't drink red wine would enjoy it. My wife did and she's a Sauvignon Blanc type. I looked over the wine menu by the bottle and it was quite varied and the mark up was lower than most good restaurants. We enjoyed lunch two days later and our waiter was Matt, who was our waiter early in 2021 during our first visit. Matt also made excellent suggestions as well. Enjoyed the Sushi as its truly exxcellent and I offer that with many years living and working Asia-wide. We drive down from Alexandria to stay at the Marriott Virginia Beach for two reasons, the Orion Rooftop Restaurant; and, the excellent staff attitude and positive "can-do" personality not only in the Orion, but hotel wide! We met the Orion Manager, "CJ," on the way out from dinner on Monday evening and he is quite a pleasant and professional guy. When we mentioned we were visiting again on Wednesday, he made sure we'd get a table with a nice view! We did!! Do yourself a favor and give the Orion on the Roof a try. Jeff & Rosann WilliamsMore

I came here to eat dinner with my girlfriend as an early Mother’s Day/ date night. I had the mussels and the corn as an appetizer and they were amazing. My server Aaron was bubbly and full of life! I loved him. My entree was...the swordfish with the pineapple fried rice, and that’s where it went downhill. The fish was dry and had no flavor at all. (My server confirmed for me also) I ended up not eating my entree but as far as ambiance goes, it’s beautiful and I would love to try it again…. I thinkMore

Not very impressive and actually disappointed. We were told by several locals that this is the place to enjoy an anniversary dinner. We went to celebrate our 25th. Atmosphere is all that is going for the place. Service was slow. My husband’s miso soup was...served lukewarm. My entree the Black Miso cod with pickled carrots and spinach came with fried burdock instead, which I do not like. The waitress didn’t even offer me a substitute when I asked why there wasn’t the vegetable as indicated on the menu. She replied, “I told them to change this awhile ago on the menu, they still haven’t”. I didn’t even get, a can I offer you something else? Very unhappy especially because it was cheap. I don’t recommend this place unless maybe you go for just sushi but if you do MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU ORDERED. Not the best anniversary memory.More

Jonathan did beyond amazing he made sure our group of 10 did not have an empty drink and the food was beyond delicious! I highly recommend checking out Orions rooftop! Like I said if you don’t experience Jonathan’s impeccable service then you are truly missing...out!!More
