My family visited Williamsburg over Columbus Day weekend and I chose Fat Canary based on all the positive reviews on TA. When I made a reservation a week before the trip, the only available time slot was 9:30pm which was not ideal and quite a...More

The staff are welcoming and professional and the food is exceptional. My friends took me here for my birthday and I was given a personalized menu as a souvenir - just so thoughtful. And our waiter, William, was just the best ! Can't wait to...More

Had a late lunch and sat outside. The food was excellent. I had fish tacos which if aren't done correctly, they can be awful. These fish tacos were just DIVINE!! The homemade coleslaw on top was the finishing touch that made the taco. Well done!

We were really looking forward to eating here. It is hard to find restaurants that serve Prime beef, so we decided to make reservations. My husband had Duck and I had Beef Tenderloin. Both entrees were dry and overcooked. We noticed that tour plates were...More

All the great reviews about this place are accurate! We had dinner here and were treated like royalty. My dietary restrictions were accommodated and the chef could not have been more kind.

We have been to the Fat Canary on almost every trip to Williamsburg. The fried oysters are worth the trip from NY alone. We were overwhelmed by our meal earlier this week. The food and service were excellent. Attentive service, outstanding food--this is a great...More

We had a delightful dinner here on the patio. They offer a wide range of prices and foods as well as cocktails, wine and beer. Very helpful waiters.

This was one of our splurge dinners on our vacation to the east coast. The food exceeded our expectations! It was delicious to the point of decadence! Our server was wonderful, and the helpers to the servers were very attentive to filling empty water glasses...More

We did not go through Open Table for the reservation to celebrate my birthday in February. If it is a special occasion I would call direct. I might do that anyway. The staff was very nice about my birthday - I think they... More

It certainly seems to be a rare occurrence. We have celebrated probably a dozen occasions each having received the personalized menu. It's not a big deal, but sort of nice. I don't think it would have affected my view of the... More

Description
This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. The dining bar and seasonal outdoor patio seating are on a first come basis. Reservations for the dining room are recommended and may be made up to 2 months in advance. Open daily for dinner, a hostess is available during the day to take reservations.
