Our B&B Innkeeper (John at A Williamsburg White House - see my review!) highly recommended the Fat Canary, and he was right on target! We were fortunate to get in at 7:30 without reservations, as they were using new software. We waited only 5 minutes, got a great table, a great server, quick delivery of two outstanding dishes that were... More

This is a delicious restaurant offering what I would say is American food with a twist. I had the pork chop with goat cheese soufflé, and it was perfect, and delicious. Others all enjoyed their meals, as well. We had a very friendly, enthusiastic and informative waiter, a huge fan of the restaurant and the owners, who guided us to... More

The food was wonderful with lovely presentation. Had to eat at the bar because we did not have reservations but it turned out better that way because the bartender was so entertaining.

We really enjoyed our meal. The service was good. Our server, Keith, had a great sense of humor and made ordering fun. We started with the oyster appetizer and it didn't disappoint. The daily special was a rockfish filet and it was delicious. We'd definitely recommend the Fat Canary.

Found on trip advisor and not disappointed. Our waiter, Keith, was friendly and knowledgeable about the foods. We had the lobster fettuccini appetizer and was not disappointed, it was plentiful with lobster. For dessert we chose the graham cracker crepes. A tasty and light dessert choice. Is

First of all, this is the best restaurant in town for a "fancy" dinner. Second, unless you are planning on sitting at the bar (where you can get full food service and drinks) you have to make a reservation well in advance of your desired dinner date. And third, expect to be there for a few hours. A dinner at... More

My wife and youngest daughter brought me for my birthday because they know how much I enjoy the food here. They did not disappoint. Waitress was knowledgeable and very attentive. My entree was beef tenderloin, my daughter had short ribs and my wife had the rockfish special. We were all very pleased with our meals. Wine hit the spot too.... More

We were there for a birthday celebration. The ambiance was just the right mix of formal and informal. The staff is incredibly good and all attentive. I was genuinely impressed by their attention. The food is excellent, and well prepared and served perfectly. Now the experience was not cheap but then again, we were not expecting it to be. It... More

This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. The dining bar and seasonal outdoor patio seating are on a first come basis. Reservations for the dining room are recommended and may be made up to 2 months in advance. Open daily for dinner, a hostess is available during the day to take reservations.
