Missed breakfast hour at our hotel so decided to try our luck in La Conner. What a lovely place we found in Calico Cupboard. The building is the 1890's vintage Coast Guard building so its a little quirky in layout but the friendly staff make it work and appear to enjoy doing it too. My omelette was simply terrific. The... We decided to forgo the free continental breakfast and bad coffee at our lodge and indulged in a shared Hudson hash and side of bacon and REAL coffee at Calico Cupboard. Delicious! Lots of gluten free options and espresso drinks also available.

I've been to the branch in Anacortes a few times, so I was thrilled to see one in LaConner, too. The eggs were excellently prepared, and the Mayor recommends the smoked salmon scramble, FYI. The service was just as I expect from such a cafe, just sincerely nice and friendly. .

There is not a bad choice in this restaurant.....food is delicious, fresh and appealing. Also, it does not hurt that it is in one of the cutest little towns I have been in. The breakfast is yummy, the lunch delicious, and the desserts to die for. You can also go in and check out the bakery section and get something... More

This is the "go to" restaurant in La Conner. It is open for breakfast and lunch. The menu has a wide range of delicious options for all tastes. There is an attached bakery with many tempting items. If the wait for the restaurant is too long, stop in the bakery and get something to take out.

I've eaten here several times for many years. The food is always good and made of high quality ingredients. You may have to wait awhile to get a table but it's worth it. The cafe is very charming so just slow down and enjoy where you are.

Stopped here for lunch after seeing the tulips. My friend and I shared a smoked turkey on brioche sandwich with pesto, and the Gorgonzola artichoke quiche. I was a little reluctant on the quiche because Gorgonzola can be overwhelming but the waitress highly recommended it. So glad I took her advice! Both were fabulous! Service was great and the food... The biggest cinnamon rolls imaginable! Apple cinnamon rolls, Raspberry cinnamon rolls, Caramel cinnamon rolls...Easily 4 inches across! We ordered a gluten free triple berry muffins (again, huge!) with our coffees. The muffin was stuffed full of berries and very moist. My lavendar latte was a novel experience. Hubby reports that his americano was just okay.

Service great once you got a seat. The soup was hearty and healthy serving with a huge slab of homemade bread.

We arrived at 7:25 for their opening at 7:30 before our trip to the Tulip Festival. We had fantastic, friendly service and very good food. The hash, Benedict, pancakes and cinnamon roll french toast were all delicious! This is a winner!
