This bakery would never survive in a larger town. The service is erratic and often abrupt and unfriendly. If you want a loaf of bread you could easily wait 15 minutes. There is one very slow cash register for beverages, take out and restaurant. I think they need to post a sign that says "we don't like our customers"

I work within a block of the Bread eddler and enjoy lunch there a few times per month. The Croque Monsieur is a hot open faced sandwich with ham, fromage blanc, and mornay sauce on crusty potato bread. Comes with a small salad lightly dressed. Perfection! You can order it with an egg if you like. French onion soup and... More

I returned home from a visit to France and had a lunch at the Bread Peddler as good or better to that which I'd become accustomed. Our friends from Paris agreed. It's often crowded but the pastries and lunch selections are well worth the wait. Also convenient to downtown.

This Bakery and Bistro has the best pastry in town and offers tasty breakfast dishes using local high quality ingredients. Their Classic Breakfast includes Cottage Bacon, which is grilled to a great taste and lean, and not the fatty super market bacon. Also, some of their breakfasts are unique and unavailable in other restaurants. What other breakfast eateries offer Frittata... More

The Bread Peddler feels like you are in a French Boulangerie. The physical setting is more like the former car dealership it was. But the bread and pastries are world class. You can't make a bad choice. Don't wait too late in the day as the bread will often sell out early--particularly on the weekends and during the holidays. They... More

My husband and I hosted a small Sunday afternoon party at home and decided to try the Bread Peddler's catering services because we love its bakery. Robin, the kitchen manager, helped me place my order. We decided on the Curried Israeli Couscous salad, a meat, cheese, and pickled vegetable tray, and mini quiche assortment , and baguttes. I also wanted... More

My friend introduced me to this place last year! It's quite small and feels tight in there, but they have great baked goods, salads and sandwiches.

Great place to meet up and have a hot drink and a pastry. They have a wonderful Croque Madame on homemade bread too! They are attached to a fantastic market square with several restaurants, a broth bar, distillery and gelato bar. Handy to the entire downtown core - shopping, parks and bus terminal.

I love their Morning Rolls! The roll is flakey, tastes of oranges and has a wonderful texture. I usually it with two poached an excellent Latte! Heaven! They have the best bakery and will make a cooked breakfast too. I often see many friends there as they have many loyal customers. You can find me there many Friday mornings.
